South Padre Island Vacation Rental cottage

We were greeted right on time and when we entered the house it exceeded our expectations. The furniture in the living room was newer than in the photo and more comfortable. Very spacious and clean. The thing we really liked is that we were never nervous our kids were going to damage something and we had a 2 year with us. Only had to baby proof the cabinet under the sink. The kitchen was roomy and very well stocked, lots of spices and oil etc. We cooked a few times and had everything we needed. The rooms were average with somewhat firm mattresses but at the end of the day we slept like babies. The downstairs is narrow with a small seating area and table but suitable for sleeping and snacking. The downstairs is not accessible to the upstairs and has 2 separate entrances. Our older kids felt like they had their own place and liked that part quite a bit.
The absolute best part was the beach. It is right there down a private path over the dunes. After you watch everyone else lug their stuff from across the street down to the beach a few times you know you made the right choice. Beautiful view from the house and back patio (both levels have a large patio). Lots of lounge seating. We had a great time and both houses on either side are offset so you get the feeling you are all alone.

It was a wonderful stay and the owners were so flexible and pleasant to work with. Worth every penny.
