COZY OCEAN VIEW COTTAGE ON OCEANFRONT LOT - 6 PERSON HOT TUB

4 Stars for location - we love Arch Cape! access to the beach is just a few steps, Manzanita & Cannon Beach are just a few miles and the beach is nice & quiet.

As for the actual cottage, it could use some TLC and updating! The futons are lumpy, uncomfortable and the futon covers could use some cleaning. The towels hanging in the bathroom were wet when we arrived (thankfully we brought our own towels & linens). As for the queen bed, the mattress is ok. The microwave died and Greg was quick to get it replaced. We never used the loft. It's very tiny, short ceiling and the stairs leading to the loft are sketchy. The kid who stopped by to replace it seemed to be put out and cursed when he had to remove the "new" microwave and replace it with the "old" microwave from the shed. He was quite grumpy. The picture posted of the cottage is not what you see when you arrive. The bushes in the front are overgrown, you cannot see the windows or the deck. The bushes do provide some privacy but at the same time cover up the views from the kitchen. You get what you pay for. We are willing to pay extra for a cleaner cottage with modern/newer appliances and furniture. We did enjoy the hot tub. Decent views from the hot tub. Greg was easy to work with. Wish the place looked more like the pictures.

The description on the cottage needs updating as there isn't a phone for use, nor is there a dishwasher. The mattress needs replacing as do the futons.

This place was a perfect place for my friend and I and our 3 kids to get away to for a few days. We really like the loft upstairs so the kids could play up there while us moms could hang out downstairs. The beach was only steps away.

The downside was when we showed up for check in at 4 the previous guests were still there. I guess they thought they had another day, which was fine mistakes happen, but after driving for 4 hours in treacherous rain you sorta want to just rest in the place that you had paid for. The cleaner asked us if we could leave for an hour while he cleaned and he would call us when it was done. Not sure how much cleaning could have gotten done in the one hour, but he never called when it was done. He also told us that the owner would probably give us some sort of a discount for the trouble, but I never even heard from the owner. We really liked the place and the location was great, very close to Cannon beach and Seaside. Im sure we will be back, but it would have been nice if there was some follow up.
