Photos and Description of the South Chatham vacation cottage rental 2 bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 4/5

Peace & Quiet in the heart of the White Mountains. Visit us once and you will come back every year as this is a very special place. Although we are secluded, you will have the option to take advantage of many different types of activities all within 30 minutes of the property. However, it is so beautiful and comfortable here you may never want to leave. Just let us know your needs and we will be happy to accommodate. Wildlife viewing is fantastic on our lake. Loons come here to mate every year and they will serenade you to sleep every night from May through October. We have moose splashing around on the shore, beaver slapping their tails on the water, eagles, osprey and many other species of birds, deer, bear, etc, etc, etc. Ask Peter about the secret local spots, although you'll be sworn to secrecy, he'll take you or tell how to get there.

Further details for this vacation cottage rental in South Chatham, New Hampshire

Our Lake: Our lake (1 mile long by 1/2 mile wide) has been written about in local news papers as being a wonderful spot to canoe and kayak, the paddling is great. There are only about 10 other homes on the lake so there won't be a lot of noisy neighbors to deal with. The lake is full of Bass and Pickerel and the local streams full of trout. Our town has many hiking trails to explore.

Wildlife: If you've seen the pictures, they speak for themselves as to the natural beauty of the area but as relates wildlife...I find that all one needs to do, is to sit down anywhere outside or on the porch, be quiet and alert...... something is bound to happen and you never know what. Maybe, a Great Blue Heron flapping its' wings above you, a beaver slapping his tail or felling a tree, an eagle or osprey diving for fish, moose splashing on the shore line, a pilliated woodpecker in a nearby tree, coyotes and owls howling and hooting at night..... then there are the other night time critter noises that you can't figure what made them, spooky, and of course, the constant of the loons.

Other Activities: Wildlife Viewing

We will be back

Review Submitted: February 2, 2010 Date of Stay: October 2009
Dear Peter and Debbie:
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at the cottage. It was a nice blend of walking, paddling, painting and reading. Our dogs loved it it too and stayed with us on the dock for hours. The wildlife is great. It's always cool to see a moose and last night a beaver swam right past us as we were enjoying the stars from the dock. The short hike up Mack Hill was wroth every step and thanks for allowing us to stay a little longer to enjoy it, much appreciated. We will take one last paddle to say goodbye to lake but we know we will be back. Thank you both foreverything. I think that your dog, Uncle Louie, was a highlight for our dogs as they were looking for him constantly. Have a great winter.

What a Blast!

Review Submitted: February 2, 2010 Date of Stay: October 2009
Thank you for such a wonderful get away on our 1st annivarsary. How great is it that we spent our entire time within 500 yards of the cottage and had plenty to do and enjoy. Deb, you made our annivaersary dinner just wonderful and everything was terrific, veal marsala, fresh veggies and Pie. Peter, thank you for being so helpful with hiking trips, kayaking secret spots and just an all around great time! We hope to see you next year.

Family Fun

Review Submitted: February 2, 2010 Date of Stay: August 2009
My name is Mara. I stayed the past week with my Brother, Dad and Grandmother. My Mom is recovering from surgery so she didn't come even though so found this great place. Weather was perfect. We went swimming at least twice a day. The dock is the best spot and the only place for cell phone coverage. The best part was that there is no TV. So we got to spend a lot of time together playing games, talking, etc. Thaks so much, we had a great time.

We had a blast!

Review Submitted: February 2, 2010 Date of Stay: September 2008
Thank you so much! We had another wonderful family vacation. The cabin feels like home, so when we had a full day of hiking, swimming, or shopping, it was so nice nice to come back to your cozy cottage. Thank You.
