Beautiful House!!!

Review Submitted: May 14, 2012 Date of Stay: May 2011
This house was our bridal headquarters for our wedding weekend!! It was PERFECT for such an event. It was so spacious and offered everything we needed. We spent an afternoon cooking out in the beautiful backyard, and when a rain storm came through we all migrated to the huge kitchen! The day of the wedding, there was so much space to get our hair and make up done, as well as all get dressed in the never ending amount of bedrooms upstairs! Our wedding pictures in and around the house came out amazing!!!!!!! Not only was the house over the top, the property manager was so accomodating and generous! We can't thank you enough for sharing your beautiful home with us for such a special event in our lives!!

Perfect Home Away from Home

Review Submitted: April 20, 2012 Date of Stay: April 2012
The Magnolia house was the perfect home away from home for our group of 9. The owner, Natalie, was an absolute delight to work with throughout the process. There was ample space for everyone to spend time together and still space for anyone wishing to retreat for some reflective time. The kitchen was absolutely beautiful, and the home was unique and inviting. Several of us commented that the home would also be a great choice for families with young children. The only issue we experienced had to do with plumbing in two of the bathrooms - it's a historic home, but the bath/showers need to be updated. Overall still, we had a wonderful experience!
Owner's Response: Dear Summer,
Thank you for your kind review. We enjoyed hosting your group last weekend! I'm so glad that you liked the house, particularly the kitchen, which is my favorite room in the house. I am also grateful for your comment regarding the plumbing. The house has all the original fixtures, and was actually built in the 1920's by a prominent plumbing family in Wilmington. I have searched high and low for parts for some of the fixtures, but they are no longer manufactured. I have finally found a supplier who will MAKE the parts to fit the original plumbing, and we are in the process of a huge update to the bathrooms, while preserving the original fixtures. They don't make those big, deep, tubs anymore. I am confident that the updates will be functional for complete comfort, and will preserve the beauty and integrity of the bathrooms. I invite you to return for another visit soon to check out the repairs and enjoy the house again.

We recently painted parts of the house as well, and we are constantly striving to provide a beautiful and restful place for groups, families and couples.

I appreciate your wonderful comments, and hope to see you again soon!

All the best,
Natalie

Southern Charmer!

Review Submitted: April 12, 2012 Date of Stay: April 2012
My family of four stayed here with about 10 other people and we just loved it! The house is so spacious and had all the amenities we needed for our time in Wilmington. We were there for a wedding so we had many guests in and out of the house during the long weekend and were able to easily entertain them all. Our two kids loved exploring all over the house. Most importantly we felf very safe there. It was in a great location - close to everything we needed. One of the most helpful things provided was the personal shopper service which allowed me to have groceries at the property for when we arrived. The property manager Libby was so friendly and made herself available to us if we needed her. I would definitely recommend this house to my friends/family. Keep in mind it is an older home but that only adds to its charm. It really made our stay in NC that much more enjoyable!!

Wonderful Weekend!

Review Submitted: January 31, 2012 Date of Stay: January 2012
This house is wonderful! My husband and I along with our 11 month old son stayed the weekend in the Magnolia House and couldn't have felt more at home during our stay! My mom, step-father, and grandmother all joined us on Saturday. The house is so spacious and the bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect for multiple guests. We felt like we all had our own seperate parts of the house to ourselves! It is so kid friendly. Our son had plenty of space to roam around downstairs and outside. It is also in a great location! The kitchen is PERFECT for a large group of people! We would definitely recommend it to anyone, and we plan on staying there again soon!

AWMATTHEWS ABERDEEN NC

Review Submitted: January 9, 2012 Date of Stay: January 2012
1/9/11 What a fabulous weekend! Our family, including my sister, 3 brothers and our spouses and most of our nieces, nephews, grandchildren and Mom's greatgrandchildren gathered in this great, well kept, older home, reminding us so much of the house where we grew up. It was great that there was space for everyone, especially the children. We had folks inside and out, playing games, talking, laughing, walking, cooking, eating and even occassionally napping. The house's location is great, too, with access to shopping and history and other activities, although we were content and comfortable with just "hanging out". The description of the house were accurate and the home was very clean and fairly well maintained.

We all agreed that this whole concept was ideal for our annual Christmas and Mom's birthday gathering. Libby even left some of the Christmas decorations out to add to the festive occassion. My sister and husband, the hosts of this year's event supplied the Crab Pot Christmas tree, and most of the cooking, We all enjoyed exploring the house and even the neighborhood.

There were only a couple of concerns; We had hoped to use the grill, but were a little unsure of it. We also had a little trouble locking the back door occassionally.

Thank you so much for allowing us to share your home, and working with our check-in/out times, Natalie, and we hope that in the future, we may have the opportunity to share it again. We just had a fantastic weekend and we will be able to share the memories for a long time.

It's a great place for family and friends to work, play and create memories.
