Premium cottage with private beach, sitting at water's edge with satellite TV and wireless Internet. New kitchen & bathroom. One reason besides it's private beach, that our cottage is so inviting, is that it is a short drive to downtown historic Bath fine dining & shopping, Freeport outlets & other midcoast area attractions. The cottage offers custom woodwork, and has been professionally styled featuring a level of comfort not often found in a cottage rental. The cottage has a wrap around deck and comfortable outside dining area, with propane BBQ grill. The deck leads to a grand staircase extending to the beach. The cottage is located facing directly west on Merrymeeting Bay, which is a well known and rare tidal bay with breathtaking sunsets and island views. Great for kayaking. On-site massage appointments available.

Depending upon your interest, a vacation on Merrymeeting Bay offers a great deal of interesting boating and fishing, as well as access to the ocean. However, it is an incredibly beautiful and relaxing location to casually explore nature, enjoy the private beach, BBQ or just rest. Depending upon the tide, a large group of seals can be found basking in the sun and looking for a fish dinner only a very short boat ride away. It is an idyllic place to canoe and kayak (please bring your own or watercraft rental information can be provided). Bath, Maine is a small mid coast jewel of a city. An old seafaring town, Bath has sailed gracefully into the present day bringing a taste of her history with her. Bath is ideally sited for water access at the head of two peninsulas. At the mouth of the Kennebec, historic Fort Popham stands guard. Nearby, Popham Beach and Reid State Park offer miles of sandy beach and rocky cliffs. Cultural treasures are plentiful at Bath’s Maine Maritime Museum.

  • Cliff's Edge is designed with an open concept in order to maximize it's waterfront views. What this means is that there is an upstairs and downstairs, with no dividing walls. This traditional Maine summer camp layout offers one large upstairs space for sleeping, consisting of 1 queen size bed and 3 twin beds. The cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway or for a fun family vacation. If 2 couples were traveling together and wanted more privacy, the downstairs does also offer a pullout sofa. Total sleeping capacity, including pullout sofa downstairs, is 7.

We have rented this magnificient cottage for our small family (2 adults + 10 months old baby). What a week! The sunset on the deck is breathtaking! There is a private beach access. It is quiet, confortable, with a nice view from the bedroom. What else can I say!! The location is perfect. It is close to many activities/locations (30 minutes drive max). Fresh seafood is easily available (5 minutes drive). The owners were very nice, reliable, helpful and very easy to deal with! We would recommend it to anybody that wants to escape their fast-paced life!!! Have a drink on the deck during the sunset and you will understand what I mean!
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
