Waterfront home with ocean, island and lighthouse views on quiet tidal cove. Located on four acres in Cape Porpoise, a small fishing village which is part of Kennebunkport. Our property is surrounded by water and is the last property on the end of a private road - so there is plenty of privacy. The house looks directly towards the water so at high tide you can sit back and take in the water views and feel like you are away from it all -- because you are! We have our own pier and float where you can keep your (or rent) kayak, canoe or boat and explore the Cape Porpoise islands. Located a mile from the center of Cape Porpoise you can easily walk to the village grocery store or to have breakfast, lunch or dinner at a local restaurant. It is also a scenic walk to the local pier where you can fish or watch the lobstermen bring in their catch. At low tide you can go clamming with a license, walk the islands and enjoy island picnics. We are also three miles to Kennebunkport where you will find Dock Square and plenty of shops, antique stores and restaurants.
A short drive (3 miles) to Goose Rocks Beach and Kennebunk beaches. You can jog, bike and walk along the beaches. If you want to get out on the water there are whale watching tours, fishing cruises and several places to rent boats, kayaks, windsurfing, scuba diving or other water sports equipment.
There are several golf courses (Par 3 and full courses) and driving ranges in the Kennebunk's including Pitch' n Put. If you like the arts you can enjoy summer theater at the Arundel Barn Playhouse, Ogunquit Playhouse, or the outdoor evening concerts on the green in Kennebunkport center along with many local art galleries.
You may also want to visit other sites such as the Franciscan Monastery, Presidential compound, Laudholm Farm and the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge.
If you don’t mind driving 25 miles north you can visit the coastal city of Portland. You may also enjoy L.L. Bean and the outlets in Freeport, Maine, about 50 miles north of Kennebunkport.
There are also, water parks, theme parks and the York Zoo all within a half hour drive.
