Photos and Description of the Kennebunkport vacation house rental
3 Bedroom, Sleeps 6, 2 full Baths, Dining, Family, Living Rm, 2 Porches, 2 Decks

Formerly rented by the U.S. Secret Service for several seasons, we are now doing weekly & monthly rentals. Our waterfront home is surrounded by water and has ocean, island and lighthouse views on a quiet tidal cove. Located on 4 acres in Cape Porpoise, a small fishing village in Kennebunkport. Our property is on the end of a private road so there is plenty of privacy. The house looks directly towards the water so at high tide you can take in the water views and feel like you are away from it all. We have our own pier and float where you can keep your (or rent) kayak, canoe or boat & explore Cape Porpoise Islands. A great place for kids to swim, or fish for crabs off the end of the pier. Fully equipped galley kitchen. Dining room, family room and living room with water views. Sleeps 6-3 bedrooms: master w/ fireplace & water view. 2 full baths. Back porch & deck, front porch/ deck overlooks water. Sorry, No Pets.

Less than a mile to Cape Porpoise village, you will find eight restaurants, a grocery store, library and art gallery. It is a scenic walk to the local pier where you can fish or watch the lobstermen bring in their catch. A three mile drive to Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunk beaches and Kennebunkport center.

Waterfront home with ocean, island and lighthouse views on quiet tidal cove. Located on four acres in Cape Porpoise, a small fishing village which is part of Kennebunkport. Our property is surrounded by water and is the last property on the end of a private road - so there is plenty of privacy. The house looks directly towards the water so at high tide you can sit back and take in the water views and feel like you are away from it all -- because you are! We have our own pier and float where you can keep your (or rent) kayak, canoe or boat and explore the Cape Porpoise islands. Located a mile from the center of Cape Porpoise you can easily walk to the village grocery store or to have breakfast, lunch or dinner at a local restaurant. It is also a scenic walk to the local pier where you can fish or watch the lobstermen bring in their catch. At low tide you can go clamming with a license, walk the islands and enjoy island picnics. We are also three miles to Kennebunkport where you will find Dock Square and plenty of shops, antique stores and restaurants.

A short drive (3 miles) to Goose Rocks Beach and Kennebunk beaches. You can jog, bike and walk along the beaches. If you want to get out on the water there are whale watching tours, fishing cruises and several places to rent boats, kayaks, windsurfing, scuba diving or other water sports equipment.

There are several golf courses (Par 3 and full courses) and driving ranges in the Kennebunk's including Pitch' n Put. If you like the arts you can enjoy summer theater at the Arundel Barn Playhouse, Ogunquit Playhouse, or the outdoor evening concerts on the green in Kennebunkport center along with many local art galleries.

You may also want to visit other sites such as the Franciscan Monastery, Presidential compound, Laudholm Farm and the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge.

If you don’t mind driving 25 miles north you can visit the coastal city of Portland. You may also enjoy L.L. Bean and the outlets in Freeport, Maine, about 50 miles north of Kennebunkport.

Fabulous Relaxation and Fun

As a family who wanted to balance relaxation time with fun time, we found this house to be a perfect fit for us. The house was very comfortable and charming. Not so fancy we had to worry, but it had everything we needed. The location is so peaceful. We loved the every minute of the day. The morning was peaceful, the afternoon was full of choices for the kids, the water sports, kayaking, the ocean, bike riding, boating.... We have three kids and they all love the water. The evening sunsets are amazing. One of the nicest places for the money we have every stayed recently.

Kennebunkport....The place to be in the summer!

We were looking for a place that was a bit secluded, nestled near the water of course but having access to lots of other places. This was is it! First the house is incredibly quaint and inviting. We felt immediately at home once we walked around....and when we sat on the couch looking out at the water through the big picture window, we knew we were at the right place. It was clean and comfortable. You can bring your own kayak or swim right off the house's pier (during high tide of course)....The town of Kennebunkport is a short drive away and has lots of restaurants and all kinds of shops (food, clothing, sundries, drug store, antiques....). Lots of local beaches that are ten minutes away. Bottom Line: Don't miss this one, its a keeper and then some.

Great Vacation Place!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at this house numerous times during the summer and fall. It was originally a fishing captains house -which I find interesting. The location is perfect. We can sit in the family room and look out at the water or sit on the front deck and watch the boats in the cove.  What is also great is the use of the pier. We sit on the pier and watch the kids play in the water. The inside of the house is very clean and nicely furnished. The galley style kitchen is simple but well equipped -we eat out most of the time anyway. There is also a deck off the back that is a warm sunny place to sit. The owners are great, they took us out in their boat to Goat Island Lighthouse. We also rented kayaks and paddled out to the islands which are just beyond the cove - and stopped at the Cape Porpoise pier to have lunch. I walk every morning and this is a great place to be for that. Each morning I walk to the center of Cape Porpoise and on to the pier which is about 11/2 miles. I love the location of the house and the privacy. I will definitely stay there again!
