Beautiful cottage on All-Sport Twin Lake

I agree with almost all the other comments. We also found the carpet to be disgusting. We all wore shoes and socks while we were in the house. The furniture was very well worn. The water situation was horrific-- we couldn't use it to cook drink or wash clothes very rusty. The pots and pans were terrible no usable skillets had to go buy my own at Meijers. Pictures were deceiving knew it had a loft but didn't realize it was in a detached garage ! Sorry didn't want my young children sleeping out there. Luckily we had alot of other trips planned so we didn't spend an abundance of time there

When we entered the cottage, the first thing we noticed was the dirty carpet, soiled with black stains throughout. The furniture was very old, uncomfortable and dirty. The manger sent a carpet crew to our rental after we reported the situation and they cleaned for 5 hours (very dirty). Our day was ruined. In the morning, we woke to discover that the water from the faucet was brown and full of rust. We couldn't drink the water or wash any of our clothing. Personally, we didn't want to shower or cook with it either. The linens (comforter, sheets and towels) were rust stained, spotted and in very poor condition. The first step leading up to the bedroom is much shorter than all the rest of the steps. Both of our children fell coming down as a result of this awkward step. Outside, the steps leading down to the beach are just as awkward with no hand rail to support you as you walk up/down the steps. The paddle boat didn't work well at all. There were so many nails that had popped through on the deck that we couldn't walk on it until the property manager came to fix it.
We were finally able to speak to Jim (the owner) and he thought our concerns were ridiculous. He only gave us back 1/2 of what we paid and we stayed there for two nights (one being the night where they cleaned until 10:00). We would not recommend this home to anyone. When you rent a home it should be clean and well-maintained with a little owner pride. This home is only an investment and it showed. We left after only two days-very sad about our ruined vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay in this clean, pleasant, well kept Twin Lake cottage. The lake was a few steps from the back door. Nice dock. Great paddle and row boat.
My nieces really loved the swimming and visit to the nearby island.
The cottage was also close to Michigan Adventures and Silver Lake sand dunes.
We all had a wonderful time and would easily rent this cottage again!
