You know you are in for a wonderful experience from the moment you begin your journey down the winding scenic wooded driveway. Not until the last turn do you discover, tucked in the back of 10 acres of wooded country, the River Cottage. We overlook a beautiful stretch of prime 'flies only' quality waters of the Manistee. Fly fisherman have long been testing these easy-to-wade waters for browns and brookies. Those who don't fish can enjoy relaxing on any of the decks overlooking the river. Extremely private as you are surrounded by woods. Or venture out to Lake Margrethe's beautiful beach just 7 miles away, rent a canoe or kayak from Shel-Haven 1 mile from cottage. Or just grab some tubes (included with cottage)walk up to M72 (5 minutes) and drop in the river for a relaxing float right back to our dock. Winter activities include access to the hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing.

Our stay at your River Cottage was everything we had hoped for and more. We felt very much at home because you may call this your cottage but it is more of a home away from home in our opinion. We held our wedding there on July 5th and the setting on your side lawn over looking the river was just perfect. Everyone that came up for the wedding loved your home and enjoyed the quiet outdoor setting. We held our reception on the side deck and set the food up under the lanai, the weather was perfect, sunny but with a pleasant breeze and eveyone was impressed with the whole ceremony. Your home has very nice decor and we could tell that this is a home that you are proud to own. We will email you some photos when we get them back. Your home is definitely a place we will come back to for another visit because when our week was over we did not want to leave.

Thanks for allowing us to have our wedding there.
