Nestled in the Pennsylvania Dutch town of Lititz, this cozy town home property is within walking distance of Lititz's historical town square with its quaint shops and old-fashioned charm. The area abounds with things to do: beautiful country drives, museums, farmers' markets, amusement parks, hiking trails, farm animals and petting zoos for the kids. Lititz is the perfect town from which to discover the peaceful tranquility of Amish country life.

The home provides an idyllic home base from which to explore. The large well-stocked kitchen opens up to the living room and sunny indoor dining area. Furnished and decorated with an eye to Lititz heritage, many items are made by local Amish/Mennonite craftsmen.

Comfort is our top priority. Fall into comfy beds at the end of the day, with down comforters, ample pillows and 300+ thread-count sheets. Watch the sun go down while grilling on the back porch. On rainy days, or if you are just killing time, nestle up with a book or movie in our plush recliner love seats. There's plenty of family games, books and toys; the living room is appointed with a beautiful flat-screen TV.

The owner, a Lititz native and descendant of PA Dutch Mennonites, has lived in East Hampton & NYC and calls this property 'Lititz Haus.' She knows the area well and can point you to a slew of things to see and do. You are a walk away from the Wilbur chocolate factory and beautiful Lititz Springs Park. Use our bicycles to explore the Amish countryside, or drive to any of the beautiful hiking trails that surround the area. Stroll through gentle Amish towns like Paradise, Intercourse.

You are a 40-minute drive from the many attractions of the more well-known chocolate town, Hershey PA, including Hershey Park, a large, amusement park with rides and roller-coasters; the famous Hershey Zoo; the Chocolate Museum, Hershey Botanical Gardens and more.

In the other direction, about 30 minutes, there is outlet shopping galore, Sight & Sound Theater, and historic Strasburg with the Railroad Museum and 'Choo Choo Barn' miniature train museum. Old steam train rides with dining cars take you through Amish farm country and on occasion, 'Thomas the Train' stops by.

A Relaxing Retreat (2 adults, children aged 10,13)

Our family recently travelled to Pennsylvania Dutch country in hopes of enjoying some rest and relaxation and also touring the area. Our accomodations exceeded our expectations. The house was quite spacious, tastefully decorated, extremely clean and tidy, and well equipped with the top of the line modern conveniences for every day life. We felt spoiled!
The home is well situated and centrally located for taking in local and non-local attractions. We were able to bike into town and enjoy the quaint shops within Lititz. By vehicle, we were able to explore caves, be intrigued by Amish country living and culture, satisfy our chocolate craving at the Hershey Factory, and enjoy some live theatre at Sight and Sound Theatre. This vacation proved to be an AWESOME getaway for all members of our family as we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area and relished our restful times for refreshment and reflection at our home away from home.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Very Nice Home in an Interesting Area

The Lititz Haus is a very nice home in the charming town of Lititz. From this location, we were able to access a lot of great stuff--including a day trip to Philadelphia. We've done a lot of vacation rentals, and this one is probably the best-equipped one that we have ever had (with the exception of no wine glasses).
The beds are super comfortable and everything is very high quality. We especially appreciated the comfy seats in the living room--so nice after an exhausting day of sightseeing. Also, the owner has included books and videos on the Lititz area which were really interesting and enriched our stay. I would agree with the other reviewers that light blocking drapes in the master bedroom would be a good addition. The management of the place is outstanding and we really appreciated the prompt refund of our deposit!!
Owner's Response: Oh I am so glad you mentioned the wine glasses. It IS bizarre that I forgot that! I like a glass of wine too ... Great Place to Stay

We just returned from a 2 week stay in Lititz Haus. We had a wonderful time. The house was clean, quiet and well equipped with everything we needed. It was in a perfect location to go in many different directions. We went to Gettysburg, Valley Forge, Baltimore, the huge outlets in Reading, and it is so convenient to all the small Amish towns. We also took 2 bus tours out of Lancaster. A one day tour to New York City and a one day tour to Atlantic City. We had a wonderful vacation and I would recommend this rental to anyone coming to this area.

Amazing house and perfect town

We just came back from Lititz. What a great memory of this simple and easy vacation. Reservation process was super easy. House is located on the dead-end street with minimal traffic. Also, there are sidewalks all around - I was surprised. All the people around are nice and friendly. This is a family oriented neighborhood with a good number of kids around.

All of us (2 adults and 2 kids - 6 yo and 1) had a great time. The house is spacious, comfortable, clean and has everything necessary for a relaxing break. it feels very cozy and warm. The kitchen is great, beds are comfortable and soft. Overall, furniture at the house is top notch and it is local. Having a smaller dining table for the kids - what a great idea!!! Our two boys enjoyed eating at that table and now we are thinking of getting something similar for our home ;) There are a lot of kids books, dvd's and enough books to read for adults. The house does not have the wireless internet, but wired internet is available - please bring your laptop. The internet is fast and reliable.

The town of Lititz has a lot to offer. Wilbur chocolate factory is about 1 mile away or so. People who like Hershey chocolates - never tried chocolate from Wilbur factory. :)
A lot of farmers markets around, selling great fresh fruits, vegetables and baked goods. there are several large supermarkets around, which also sell some of the local produce

Public pools are good. Clean water and not too many people.
Hershey park about 45 minutes away.

This was by far the best vacation our family had in PA and mostly because of the quality and cleanness of the house. Thank you very much.

Welcoming, warm, comfortable home

This house had all the comforts of home! We loved every minute of our say at the Lititz Haus! The kids especially loved the loft area. The house was centrally located for a trip that included Hershey Park on day one, Lancaster on day two and Gettysburg on day three.

The beds were so comfortable that we decided to sleep in on day two and bum around the house for the majority of the day. We have already started to plan our next trip.
