Paradise Cottage is set in lush perennial gardens and woods on Linekin Bay in Mid-Coast Maine with your own private beach on a tiny cove. We are just three miles from quaint Boothbay Harbor, yet our unique pastoral location makes us feel sequestered from the bustle of town life. When you stay at Paradise Cottage you can settle into the ebb and flow of tides, sunrise and sunset, and the harmony of wildlife.The twittering of birds and sloshing of waves are your surround sound. If you open your eyes early enough you can watch lobster boats slip out in the morning.Occasionally a sailboat will pass within view. If the evening is still, you can listen for the distant tones of fog horns.March is for owls calling at night. April evenings are joyous with the return of laughing gulls and peepers singing from the pond.Yet live theater, antique shops, gourmet restaurants, boat excursions and art studios are at your fingertips in addition to fishing, kayaking, hiking; and of course, relaxing!

Paradise Cottage is located on Linekin Bay in East Boothbay on the next inlet east of Boothbay Harbor and just three miles from there by car or on foot via a walk through the woods (Boothbay Region Land Trust Trail). Thus we have the best of both worlds; private and secluded, yet not far from all the activities associated with a working waterfront community. The views are outstanding any where you go. We suggest the boat ride to Burnt Island where guides in character demonstrate the life of a Lighthouse Keeper's family in the 50's. Tour the lighthouse, the dwelling and island. Children will also love the Aquarium where they will learn what critters to hunt for when they come back to our beach and explore in the water or at low tide. Antique shops, art studios, gourmet restaurants, live theatre, whale watching, and afternoon tea are just a few of the other options nearby when you stay at Paradise Cottage.

  • In winter we also offer a monthly rate for those who might want to experience a real winter on the coast. For any or all of the months of December, January, and February you may rent Paradise Cottage for $600/month + utilities (which run around $650/month for heat, electric, TV and phone), or $1800/mo flat fee, plus a Refundable deposit of $1000 based on 2 person occupancy with possible 2 guests for a limited time. One month minimum. No pets

Notes: The hot tub is for three people and may be available with advance request. Please inquire. Smoking is allowed outside only. The house is all on one level; however, there are three steps (with railing), a gravel path and a little bridge with a slight slope through the garden to get to it. We offer guests the option to bring their own linens, or they may rent ours for $50 per stay for the whole house, or $25 for just two people. There is just one ceiling fan in the living room. The old green enameled Franklin stove is pretty but does not draw or heat well. Guests have the use of our beach in the cove (pictured in the 'view from the middle bedroom'. It is across the street and down through more gardens.
