Sweet Retreat is a vacation destiny that lives up to its name. It offers a vacation in an area often called The Last Frontier, an area of peace, solitude and beauty along North Carolina's Outer Banks. This off road area requiring four wheel drive is a strip of twelve miles beginning at the end of Highway 12 and ending at the Virginia state line along the pristine Atlantic Coast. Sweet Retreat is a charming spacious cottage set amongst Loblolly Pines and visited often by wild horses. Awake each morning to the peaceful sound of the surf and gorgeous sunrises. Upper deck offers ocean views. Stroll along the wide beaches and search for treasured shells and sand dollars left behind by the changing tides. Take pictures of the wild mustangs of Carova who have roamed the beaches since the early 1500's when Spanish ships went aground and lost their equestrian cargo to the wondrous dunes of Carova (Carolina and Virginia equals CAROVA).
