An awesome Family Destination.:
Our family has been vacationing in Destin for 8 years now and there is no place like it. The 5 of us enjoy the beach, the more private Terrace Pool, going to Fishermans Wharf at the harbor for family fishing charters and walking the docks around 2 to see what all the fishing charters are bringing in for the days catch. It truly is the Worlds Luckiest Fishing Village. We stroll down the docks to AJ's on the harbor where the live music starts at 5pm every day and enjoy some fresh seafood. Another family favorite is walking east on the beach to the Back Porch for lunch. The bronzed AmberJack is always great! There are Kayak rentals, parasailing, and beach chairs and umbrellas to rent on the Beach. At times the ocean is so still & crystal clear you can see a freckle on your toe in waist deep water. Other times the surf comes roaring in and then the waves are perfect for boogie boarding. Everyday is a new day, but each one holds uncompromised beauty. The sunsets are second to none!
Dining Galore!:
The dining oppertunites are endless. For Beachfront casual we like Poppys or you can walk right of the beach in your flip flops, sand in your toes to the Back Porch. For Beachfront elegant the Inn at Crystal Beach. I love to sneak off with just my husband or a girlfriend for lunch when the prices are lower and the food is a 10. No trip would be complete without an evening at Baytowne Village on the Bay. Lots of restaurants, shops, live music and family activities. Also do not miss the New Harborwalk entertainment complex with shops, high end dining at Commanders Palace, family dining at Harry T's, and Pat O' Briens famous hurricanes just to few name a few. The Winn Dixie grocery is right across the street, a Fresh Market a few miles east and there is a Publix east by the Bay bridge. Fresh seafood at Sextons. If you love sushi you must go to the Hibatchi grill at Harbor Docks, ultra casual, the best Sushi, and on the harbor Biggest steak & best ribs are at McQuires. Zampieris martinis
