Owls Head House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Beachfront directly on a sandy beach in Owls Head, Maine. You can wake up with spectacular sunrises over the islands.
Beautiful view of islands on the Penobscot Bay. Ideal for those who want a quiet location, but who still want easy access to restaurants, stores, and activities.
The beach changes with the tides. At low tide you have lots of sandy beach area. At high tide, the water comes to the rocks.
The home is fully equipped. The style is open, uncluttered. On one side of the great room (kitchen, dinning area, and living room), there is one bedroom with its own bathroom. On the other side, there are two additional bedrooms that share a bathroom. Ideal for two couples that want some privacy or for parents - with older children - that want a little space of their own. All three bedrooms have one queen size bed.
The great room and two of the bedrooms have large windows that provide an oceanfront view. The house has been continuously updated. All windows are modern, easy to open with screens. Both bathrooms have been redone in the last several years. The kitchen as of 2011 has Corian countertop with integral sink and refaced cabinets.

That's us in the picture!
I came, I saw, I bought (my apologies to Julius Cesar for misquoting him!) But it was as simple as that. The first time I saw the view driving down the street, I knew and I never had a regret.
I love the ocean - I was raised in the Caribbean and spent my 20's in the Pacific with the navy. This spot has a sandy beach but it is nestled with rocky shoreline and near and far islands. It is very inviting to take the kayak out and go to one of the islands.
I bought this house in 1988, redid the entire interior over that winter, and each year try to make it better. The comment I get most often is that this is a place to relax and decompress. It blends being away from commercial areas but not being isolated and having many options for stores, restaurants, and entertainment near by.
