About The Owner

The cottage was purchased and remodeled in 2008. Troy and Kirsten have always loved Livingston and wanted a place for their 'mini vacations' from Bozeman. The house was remodeled with the environment in mind using green and reclaimed materials. Troy has been a stone mason for over 20 years and is responsible for the stonework that makes the cottage extra charming. Kirsten and Troy have traveled extensively and have filled the cottage with all of the things that they have found make their travels easier. You will love this place!

Gateway to Yellowstone

  • 5 of 5
My good friend from Seattle finally came to visit Montana and I booked this cottage for her stay. The house was a great home base for exploring Paradise Valley, Yellowstone and of course the quaint town of Livingston. To say the least, we had a wonderful time. The house is nothing short of charming. We loved the design, a combination of old fashioned Montana with a modern touch. I loved the colors of the rooms and the radiant floors! Our favorite room was by far the bathroom, which we later named the Cloud room (visitors will learn why upon arrival). Plus, the house was stocked with many clean towels (important for the Boiling River in Yellowstone), organic conditioner/shampoo and a huge kitchen that is great for cooking. The cottage is a great home away from home for any traveler. We spent out last night laughing and drinking beer by the small outdoor fire on the back porch. I would definitely recommend this house for future travelers!

Overall the house is pretty nice, but since I am a VRBO owner I compare it with mine and it is not close. Furnishings were sparse, no kleenex, short on things like barbeque sauce, salsa and even shampoo and conditioner. The floor in the bedroom and bathroom is cement. Only two bath towels provided for a 4 night stay.

the payment terms are definitely owner oriented since they want full payment sevweral weeks before your stay.l NO coffee provided!
Overall clearly the owner just wants to make money off this and really doesn't care about visitor satisfaction.

Owner's Response: We’re sorry to hear you weren't satisfied. We, too, have stayed at many VRBOs over the years and believe ours has more amenities than most in which we have stayed, which we believe is reflected in the reviews we have had over the last many years. We only put two sets of towels out because we try to keep the bathroom uncluttered; however, there are six additional complete sets under the sink. Also, we purchase organic shampoo, conditioner and soap for our guests, which if not on the counter, are in the drawers in the bathroom, along with extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.

It is true that the floor in the bedroom and bathroom are dyed radiant heated concrete. We love this floor, especially in the early fall, which keeps the entire house comfortable as well as help keep the house cool in the summer.

We definitely are concerned with the satisfaction of our guests, and while we do rent the property for money, we have never had a guest complain and have accommodated guests that have forgotten to send a check prior to their stay or any other special requests. We are flexible when asked.

It is true that we don't leave perishables at the cottage (except spices, oil, etc) because we are concerned that someone could get sick from opened packaging. We have never used those items when we have stayed places because of that. However, if you had asked, we would have shopped for some items for you.

We wish you would have contacted us during your stay so we could have remedied any concerns.

Respectfully,

Andrea, Kirsten and Troy

perfect

  • 5 of 5
Loved this cute cottage home. It was very comfortable and convenient to downtown. Very nicely updated. Couldn't believe the size of the bathroom for this small home. We also loved the patio. It had everything we needed, and it was great to have a washer and dryer on site.

Enjoyed several restaurants on this trip. Mustangs and Glenns. Also loved checking out the art galleries, Sax & Fryer, and the Park County Museum.

Already recommended to friends. We will hope to stay here again on our next trip if it is available.

Darling

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I rented the cottage as our home base during a family reunion. The house was perfect for us, it's well maintained, clean, painted nicely, great decor and artwork (upstairs bedroom, painting of the bears & the Haiti painting). The kitchen was very functional and well equipped; we prepared spiral ham & biscuits for 50 people to take for breakfast in another location. House is in a nice neighborhood and the parking spot at the front door was always available. We were so busy with our reunion activities that we did not have a chance to enjoy the patio or the fire pit.

Must do's; 1. Yellowstone National Park 2. Float the Yellowstone with Rubber Ducky River Rentals 3. Huckleberry Ice cream Sandwiches made by Wilcoxson's (purchase them at Town & Country Grocery Store)

I would highly recommend this property, Andrea was easy to book the rental from and she followed up afterwards. I personally would have enjoyed seeing a before, during & after photo album of the cottage make over because it turned out darling!!!
