Bear View Cove is a nicely renovated and furnished mountain cabin located in the Smokey Mountains of North Georgia, just 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta. It is perfectly located at the tri-state borders of GA, NC and TN.
A complete renovation features wood floors, stainless steel appliances, and rustic mountain furnishings. This cabin is special because it is secluded from neighbors, with a long private driveway. It provides beautiful seasonal mountain views and is shaded with majestic oak and pine trees. The property is a few minutes from the Woodruff Boyscout Camp, providng thousands of acres of undeveloped forest land as the perfect neighbor for a mountain get-a-way. Enjoy the 1,500+ sq feet of outside patio and deck area, that features a hot tub, and an outside campfire site. Star gazing is amazing. The Chalet style cabin features two bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths with beautiful stained glass windows and updated appliances.

When we arrived it was getting dark, the house had lights on, music was playing, directions to the house were clearly given..... we felt home already ... After reporting in via the house telephone, We felt very comfortable with this accommodation, there were house rules, but they were normal, just common sense. We felt very sad that we didn't book this house for a longer time, a private hot tub in open air, only noise you could hear were the birds, deer eating place insight ... oh yeah there was also a welcome basket, Internet very fast, TV channels ..... Great kitchen, washer, dryer, Room enough for 5 persons, 7 doable ...... If you like to be alone for a while, this is the place to be, our best accommodation ever!!!! Just book it!!!!!
This house was a great deal, we certainly enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a cabin that was not part of a subdivision (no close neighbors). We wanted to be in the woods and we were. We liked the fact that we couldn't really see or hear anyone nearby. The kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes for cooking and serving, as well as many other item you might need on a trip. We also thought that the beds slept nicely. The living area in the downstairs was very nice and enjoyable as we watched the Olympics while it stormed. The only drawback we found was that there were yellow jackets and a large wasp nest that needed to be sprayed. A little bit of professional exterminating should handle that. I have passed on my recommendation to quite a few of my friends and co-workers. What a nice little get away this was for me and my family! There was so much to do in a reasonably close drive!
What a neat retreat! Everything was gorgeous! We would recommend this property to friends and family. They made sure everything was in order prior to arrival. The scenery around this cabin is really beautiful.
There is a fire pit AND a chimenea, which made family fireside chats very easy. The privacy is incredible there, too! There were also plenty of wildlife to spot around the cabin. One morning, two wild turkeys flew in, and there were plenty of rabbits and squirrels.
It is very close to some great fishing areas, CAUGHT lots of fish, and we also drove to see many waterfalls of GA. from this cozy cabin.
They provided lots of guidebooks about local waterfalls, and scenic National Forest locations.
Great vacation cabin to stay in, and very comfy!!
some problems with diredt tv. extremly clean and well stocked. convenient location to blairsville. tastefully decorated
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Williams Chalet. It was clean and well furnished and we enjoyed finding activities nearby to keep us busy during the day. Would gladly recommend this cabin to friends who wanted a quiet getaway spot. We wanted a place where we could find some colder weather without freezing as we were a little tired of having to keep our air conditioning on all year long in Florida. It was a nice change.
This was my second visit to this cabin and I have to say a week at this cabinand I am back to work running 2 psychiatric hospitals (no small feat) and feeling refreshed and ready to go!
p.s. my dogs loved it even more than I did, lots of room to run and be a dog away from city life.
Thanks so much for allowing "my 4 legged" family to participate as this was my priority.
You will feel like you are in your own enchanted forest while on property, but you are very close to area recreational facilities.
Go down the drive and mountainside, and you will come upon Lake Nottely and a marina which features boat rental. Enjoy many of the local waterfalls, state parks, white water rafting and tubing nearby. Browse the quaint historic town of Blue Ridge and ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway through the mountains.
Visit the Swiss town of Helen, GA; or cross into North Carolina (9 miles away) and tour historic Murphy. Enjoy white water rafting down the Ocoee with Rolling Thunder (McCayesville, GA 30 mins away $38), while those who prefer a calm ride can tube for $5 with the same company, Rolling Thunder down a lazy river. Explore Vogel State Park and enjoy the swimming beach/waterfall/miniature golf and hiking. Just past Vogel Park see 100 ft+ waterfalls at Helton Creek Falls or golf 18 holes at Butternut Creek Golf Course.
