Florida Lake and River Playhouse:
You will be deep into Old Florida. The St Johns River is one of the widest rivers in the world leading you into Big Lake George. You will be in the Bass Capital of the World. Some of the best fishing areas you can find. The St Johns River is very historic and was a main source of transportation in the 1800's and early 1900's. A Lot of history is all around you. A pontoon, fishing or speed boat can be rented for your water explorations. Or, bring your boat, a covered boat slip is 30 steps from your backdoor rental. The Ocklawaha River is a short 20 minute boat ride away. Beautiful scenic boat rides can review early river transportation history. Wildlife galore will be everywhere around you. Gators, eagles, raccoons, opossums, snakes, turtles, otters will be seen. Big Lake George leads you to Salt Springs and Silver Glen springs providing crystal spring water swimming areas, white sandy bottoms, snorkeling and fishing. You can reach these areas by car or boat.
Florida Attractions:
You will also be very close to many major Florida Attractions. Walt Disney World is a 2 hour drive away and you already know what other Orlando attractions are there. The Atlantic Ocean is a short 45 minute drive to secluded beaches or famous Daytona Beach is about a 1 hour drive. Also in Daytona is Bike Week, BikeToberFfest, Daytona 500 to mention a few. Historic St Augustine Florida is a 50 minute drive away providing many attractions and the Beach. Jacksonville is a 2 hour drive and home to the NFL Jaguars. Beaches, St Johns River (Jacksonville is the River City), Jacksonville Landing and many more attractions are there. Titletown USA (Gainesville, Florida-Home of the University of Florida National Champion Gators) is a 2 hour drive away. The UF campus is very historic and beautiful.
The annual Catfish Festival in Crescent City is less than 15 minutes away. The annual Crab Festival in Palatka is a 30 minute drive away in Palatka, Fl. Both events offer much entertainment and great food.
