Embden is an excellent location for fun! It is located North to South between Belgrade Lakes Region and Sugar Loaf Mountain. It's east to west between Rangley and Moosehead Lakes. It has four ponds including Embden Pond which is stocked with Salmon as well as the Carrabassett River on the West and the Kennebec River on the East side. Wyman and Hancock Ponds are nearby. Public boat ramps and swimming dot the area. Sandy Pond is a great place to appreciate the tranquility of Central Maine. Many times we have been the only boater on the pond. It is over a mile long and over 3/4 mile wide at its longest points. The fishing, boating and swimming are magnificent. It is stocked by the state of Maine with Brown trout. Public access is limited to Sandy Pond. There is no public or formal boat ramp. The property is nestled on 18 acres of Maine woodlands shared with only one other house. It has about 1300 feet of frontage on Sandy Pond.

Loon Road is at the top of the hill, on Cross Town Road. Some maps show it as Town Farm Road, down the street from the State of Maine fish hatchery. It is accessible by opening an unlocked chained gate which limits access to homeowners and guests.

Connects to the ME snowmobile trail system. Like moose? Golf? Ski? White water rafting? Fishing? There are many large deep water ponds as well as snow mobile/ATV/ hiking trails with public access in the area.
