We have now been spoiled. This house is beautiful and fulfilled all our needs. The lake, surrounding sights, shopping, sightseeing, etc. Great for children and all ages! We hope to go back.
First, the negatives. We had to get the combo to get in the house from the cleaning people (who were luckily still there) as it wasn't sent to us. Also, we were told we couldn't keep our seado trailer at the house and they would let us know where to put it. no one did so on Tuesday we get a call from the owner complaining that we had the trailer at the house. We felt she was condescending. We immediately moved the trailer as we would have on Sunday if we'd been informed earlier where to put it. Also, we didn't find out until we get there and read the book that you should only use 4 wheel drive down the steep driveway and park cars up by road. If we had known we'd have driven our SUV instead of our Lexus sedan. we didn't think there was adequate porch furniture for the number of people the house holds. Also, there appeared to be a small leak in an upstairs shower. Oh, and we never could get the pilot light lit on the stove griddle. And you have to take your own garbage to the dump several miles away and there is only one outdoor trash can...they could another as trash accumulates quickly with 14 people. Also, each oven only had one rack so some things got burned on bottom from sitting on bottom of oven...we were feeding 14! Two more racks would fix that problem!
The positives are the house is lovely with lots of activities. We rented a pontoon boat (we must say for the money it was in very poor condition with all the seats ripped and quite dirty but it got us around the lake and we covered seats with beach towels we took). We took our seado, the house comes with two kayaks and we took floats and fishing poles. Two kitchens and two laundry rooms worked really well with so many people. The pool table, dart board and checkers were used a lot. S'mores on the outdoor fireplace were enjoyed by all. Plenty of pans, silverware, etc. The Grandkids and kids had great fun white water rafting. The lake is beautiful and surrounded by stunning mountain views. Lake is not busy. Bunk room worked great with 5 boys. The grocery is about 30 minutes away so plan well. The people at the restaurant are friendly and helpful and the food is down home good. We had the catfish special on Friday night and it was great.
Exceptional house! We had three families and had plenty of room and privacy when needed. Wonderful kitchen, roomy and stunning great room. Quality throughout. Awesome decks and views. Would stay again without question.
would defintely go back!!!! we had a wonderful week on the lake. 6 adults 4 kids (6-14) and my 4 legged daughter. FANTASTIK!!
I wonder if the prior rented who posted such a negative review stayed at the same house we did for our Thanksgiving family reunion.
To say we were more than pleasantly surprised by the size, condition and quality of the home would be an understatement. Not to mention we were all blown away by the amazing architecture of the home!
We had 14 people form 3 different families all under the same roof from ages 10 to 85. There was more than enough space, beds and things to keep us busy during our stay. The outside fireplace was a very special treat for somores and ring toss. The walks around the lake were a lot of fun and comparing the home to the others we saw, we felt we had one of the best. The three levels of the home even gave each of us privacy when desired. The internet was fast enough - I did a speed test on my laptop and it had a download speed of 4.28 Mbps which was sufficient for me to monitor my business while enjoying the home.
There where big screen TVs in all major rooms including one in the master bedroom above the fireplace with dish network of over 200 channels. We had family movie night every night. All 14 people who stayed here said on a scale of 1-5 stars –this home gets a perfect 5. We will be back and gladly recommend this home!
This is a big beautiful home with a very nice kitchen and room for a big family. The problem is the home has many issues that made our vacation a nightmare. First, the home has several water leaks, one from the upstairs loft bedroom shower, which leaks into the master over the bed stand, partially soaking the bed. Second, was the master bathtub which leaks into the bunk room below, soaking one of the top bunks. Third, was a leak under the kitchen sink, which caused a slippery floor in the kitchen. (The management did have a plumber come 2 days after I reported it, but only fixed the kitchen leak!) Next were the technical issues with electronics. Only two TV’s actually worked to view Direct TV. All the others were not hooked up correctly. Basically if you wanted to watch TV you had the living room or the loft bedroom. The recreation room, bunkroom, did not function at all. Only one DVD player worked in the master bedroom, the DVD player in the living room was not functioning. So much for family movie nights. Next was the internet connection in which 5 of the 7 days did not work. You could connect but the connection was so slow it was essentially useless. Then there was general cleanliness. The floors were dirty, leaving bare feet black with dirt, one of the bedrooms in the loft had a blood stain on the comforter, blown light bulbs, and a suspected gas leak from the rec room fireplace.
I am not one to complain but this was a big disappoint for such a nice home. Thank goodness for Steve who is the caretaker of the property. He tried to fix the issues but most issues were well beyond a handyman fix. This home has issues. It is a shame that none of this was addressed before a lease was signed. VERY disappointed. Leasers BEWARE.
