Thank you so much for the use of your property in Sonoma. It was a great week and we enjoyed your house very much. The property worked perfectly for our vacation and we enjoyed it a lot. If you are looking to sell the property, it would be perfect if I ever decided to retire in Sonoma.
We stayed for a week while touring Sanoma County. We couldn't have asked for more. It was perfect for 2 couples. We only ate breakfast there but the kitchen was fully furnished had we wanted to use it. The town of Sanoma was amazing. Great restaurants and a beautiful downtown plaza. The description and pictures portray an very accurate account of what to expect. It was very comfortable and clean. We had wonderful recommendations from the owner/manager of the property. Would definitely stay there again.
Our stay started out by receiving our code to retrieve our key, from the key box, to gain access to the cottage as we were flying into Sacramento via email to our computers. We needed computer access to get it but could not get in to the cottage to get a Wi-Fi connection. After several calls to the owner, we received the code and were able to gain access. The first impression was not overwhelming as the carpet was worn, soiled and needed to be cleaned. The doors were circa 1960's or possibly 1970's. After unpacking, we tried to watch the TV but the message on the screen said the service was "unavailable". We later found out that a new cable box was installed, by the owner, but no one at the cable company was notified so they never "flipped the switch". Finally, got that issue resolved. The next morning, the other couple got up and made coffee. I think the coffeemaker is either due a decalcification or should be retired as it took 45 minutes to brew 12 cups of coffee.
We heard that the temperature was going to be rather cool the next morning so we set the thermostat for 70 degrees. Upon waking up the next morning, it was around 55 degrees inside with no heat. Both men tried to get it to work but that was to no avail. By now, we were so frustrated, we decided to leave well enough alone. The grass had not been cut for long time and when the groundskeeper came, he cut about 2/3 of the grass and left the back and side yards uncut.
I will say it was quiet with the exception of a crowing rooster in the morning somewhere in the neighborhood. Easy access to all areas in and surrounding Sonoma and Napa Valley. Needless to say, this property won't be high on our list of recommendations of places to stay in Sonoma/Napa Valley.
Caroline's Cottage was just what we wanted for our stay for a wine tasting and wedding festivities weekend. It was just perfect for my husband, my parents and I since we like to have a place to really relax (rather than a hotel room). The house was clean, the garden was lovely, and we really enjoyed relaxing on the porch and back patio. Next time we'll take time to take advantage of the hot tub. The location was excellent - just blocks from downtown Sonoma. We can't wait for our next excuse to head back to Sonoma. We're definitely coming back to Caroline's Cottage, and have already recommended it to some friends and family. Thank you so much Caroline!
After a wonderful stay at Caroline's Cottage with my husband in October of last year, I was anxious to return in the early springtime. My "just before the equinox" two-night stay ---- this time with my daughter and almost-4-month-old granddaughter ---- was, as happily anticipated, comfortable, beautiful, and relaxing in every way. Even the baby slept well!
It was fun to explore, via stroller, the nearby neighborhood children's playground (with dreams of returning when baby is walking) and the historic Sonoma Square. There we visited our child/baby friendly favorites, the Sunflower Cafe and the Swiss Hotel, as well as Half-Pint, a great baby & children's clothing and toy store. The blossoming trees, vines, and roses on the Cottage property added to the ambiance, as did the sunny wrap-around porch and the sight and scent of lilacs across the street. Caroline's Cottage is a great place for families, and I hope to return to enjoy all of the seasons there. Thank you, Caroline!
Caroline's cottage was a delight! My husband, daughter and granddaughter(2 1/2years) stayed there for 2 nights in February. The house is immaculate with comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. The back yard is fenced so it was safe for outside play and a playground less than a block away was very useful. Unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there so we could not enjoy the outside porch and garden as much as we would have liked. It was an easy walk (0.9miles) to the center of Sonoma with some interesting shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend Caroline's cottage as a place to stay in the Sonoma area.
Very comfortable beds! Peaceful and quiet. Sweet hot tub! Nice layout for two couples, bedrooms in opposite corners of house. Really enjoyed the wrap around porch and pleasant yard each morning. Will be coming back soon!
