Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for the use of your property in Sonoma. It was a great week and we enjoyed your house very much. The property worked perfectly for our vacation and we enjoyed it a lot. If you are looking to sell the property, it would be perfect if I ever decided to retire in Sonoma.

Great Value for the Price

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for a week while touring Sanoma County. We couldn't have asked for more. It was perfect for 2 couples. We only ate breakfast there but the kitchen was fully furnished had we wanted to use it. The town of Sanoma was amazing. Great restaurants and a beautiful downtown plaza. The description and pictures portray an very accurate account of what to expect. It was very comfortable and clean. We had wonderful recommendations from the owner/manager of the property. Would definitely stay there again.

Great place for dogs & their owners

Great place for dogs & their owners
  • 4 of 5
After driving cross country with our dogs,we arrived at Caroline's Cottage to find two bottles of wine waiting for us & a big and inviting backyard for our dogs. After settling in, we also enjoyed the yard for the next two weeks; afternoons of wine & cheese on the patio, quit nights enjoying fires in the outdoor fire pit & a relaxing hot tub on cooler nights.
The location of the house was all that was promised and more. We were able to walk to the Square for restaurants, shopping, wine tasting and the Tuesday night Farmers' Market in about 10 or 15 minutes. There was a nice park about a block away that led to beautiful bike trails along Fryer Creek. It was a great place for our daily walks with the dogs.
While the house itself could use some updates, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Caroline and her assistant, Mary, could not have been more helpful or nicer. Any question, concern or need was taken care of immediately. They really made our stay a wonderful experience.

A Get-Away With the Comforts of Home!

  • 5 of 5
What a treat it was to stay at Caroline's Cottage! My husband and I are retirees who live in nearby Santa Rosa and have always loved visiting Sonoma for its wonderful dining, shopping, and historic Sonoma Square, but we have never stayed overnight there. Caroline's Cottage couldn't have provided a better mid-week getaway with all of the comforts of home. The historic farmhouse –– surrounded by trees in full autumn colors and a lovely garden (which we especially enjoyed while lounging on the wrap-around porch) –– is charming, and as we entered the cottage we felt not only privileged, but completely "at home" without any of the responsibilities. The golden fall light, inside and outside the house, was serene, and the private backyard was a perfect spot for us (and for our golden retriever) to relax and to enjoy nature. Being on the lovely property offered a glimpse of what the Sonoma landscape was like when the farmhouse was built at the end of the 19th century. While we felt like we were in the country, we nonetheless appreciated the amenities of the Cottage, as well as our three short walks to and from the Square, via the Fryer Creek Trail, via West 1st Street, and via Broadway (where we were happy to visit, for the first time, the fabulous new Williams Sonoma at its original, historic location). Staying at the Cottage allowed us to feel like Sonoma locals: smiling at occasional passersby walking their dogs in the neighborhood, attending the Tuesday Night Farmers Market at the Square, eating out at our favorite Sunflower Cafe and on the back patio of the Swiss Hotel, as well as cooking and eating in the pretty farmhouse kitchen at the farmhouse table. Using the Blue Willow dishes for our in-home meals and the bottle of wine left for us to enjoy were special treats. Gaining access to the Cottage and checking-out following our stay was smooth and made clear by helpful communications both in the binder of information provided and by thoughtful and timely e-mail communications from the owner. Our perfect stay was made even better by the Giants winning the World Series on our last evening there! We're already planning to return to Caroline's Cottage in March. I can't wait to walk to the Quilt Store on Broadway and to see the gardens of Caroline's Cottage in spring!

Owner's Response: We are sincerely glad you had a wonderful stay, found everything you needed, found an opportunity to cook, and definitely look forward to having you in March! We are also glad you found such Sonoma treasures and events to involve yourselves. It is true the seasons do show their colors throughout the year. Thank you also for sharing some of the things you did and discovered. I think this helps other guests with ideas while they stay at Caroline's Cottage.

Wine trip

  • 4 of 5
Great location, nice quiet neighborhood, walking distance to Sonoma Square. Comfortable beds. Very clean and well maintained. Very small master shower. One small television in the living room. Great yard. When the flowers are blooming it would be great for a gathering in the back yard.

PERFECT HOUSE!

  • 5 of 5
This was our first visit to the wine country and this was the perfect little place for my wife and I and another couple to stay. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so we each had privacy. The hot tub was a plus and nice to come home to relax in after a full day of site-seeing. We enjoyed morning coffee on the wonderful porch. We rented bikes just down the corner which was fun. Very convenient. The property managers were easily reached when we had questions. I would highly recommend this Cottage and plan to return on another vacation.

Such a COMFY House!

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time at The Cottage and in Sonoma. The town was amazing, fun with lots of events happening. There were great restaurants recommended by the owner and a beautiful downtown plaza. The Cottage was awesome, fully equipped and met our needs. Even coffee in the cupboard! The description and pictures portray an very accurate account of what to expect. It was very comfortable and clean. We did hear an occasional rooster, but it was not intrusive to us at all. It's a nice mix of country and city. Kind of fun. LOL.
