Stunning views of Portland and the mountains from the living room and bedroom. Mt. Tabor park is 3 blocks away with 360-degree views of Portland and many miles of hiking and/or biking trails, tennis and basketball courts, picnic areas and free summer concerts. Close to downtown with public transportation only blocks away and easy freeway access to the airport or recreational destinations including skiing (1 hour), world-class rock climbing (3 hours), and ocean beaches (1.5 hours). Walk to nearby restaurants and coffee shops or a short drive to the Hawthorne District for more restaurants and unique shopping. Your Hosts: Bonnie and Michael are international travelers who have lived in Portland since 1972. While in foreign countries we've stayed in private homes whenever possible and welcome the opportunity to meet other travelers and make their stay in the Pacific Northwest a wonderful adventure. We're both athletic and can introduce guests to local bike rides, local running routes and sculling opportunities. Running and biking trails are minutes away with miles of hiking trails on the only volcano located within a city in the US. Bonnie is also a Master Gardener, and our yard is constantly in flux as plantings respond to the seasons and regional garden shows come and go. We also operate a gardening site and welcome anyone with an interest in plants or horticulture.

A very good place to stay

We stayed at this home in July and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It felt like a true home from home but set in a gentler time. A very quiet area but also most convenient to all that goes on in Portland and not too far from downtown. Home sits in and is surrounded by a wonderful neighborhood of hilly tree-lined streets. We got a great Portland Oregon vibe staying. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, we will be back here again.

A true home away from home!

Wow! Words can not do justice to the beautiful gardens surrounding this very large, very well-equipped apartment. The views from the living room and bedroom windows are worth waking up for each day. Anything we needed, we found by opening a drawer or closet or by asking for it. The bed was comfortable, the shower- hot, the living room complete with a gas-lit fireplace, and the kitchen huge with full-sized appliances. The owners were gracious and friendly and available. Quiet, serene, beautiful views, this apartment was everything we were looking for. We will definitely stay here again.
