Apartment, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Enjoy an apartment in the lower level of a beautiful mid-century home nestled into the side of an extinct volcano. Stunning views of Portland and the mountains from the living room and bedroom. The apartment most comfortably sleeps 2 but we can accommodate 4 (with an inflatable queen mattress)in a pinch.

Mt. Tabor park is 3 blocks away with 360 degree views of Portland and many miles of hiking and/or biking trails, tennis and basketball courts, picnic areas and free summer concerts.

Close to downtown with public transportation only blocks away and easy freeway access to the airport or recreational destinations including skiing (1 hour), world class rock climbing (3 hours), and ocean beaches (1.5 hours).

Walk to nearby restaurants and coffee shops or a short drive to the Hawthorne District for more restaurants and unique shopping.

Whether you're coming to Portland for business or recreation, this apartment will provide a quiet, convenient home base while you explore the Pacific Northwest.

About The Owner

Like many Portlanders we lead an active lifestyle. I run, scull and occasionally ski and cycle while Michael is a dedicated cyclist. The garden is my passion and the landscaping reflects the plant nerd in me. We are also committed travelers which is why we have opened the apartment on the lower level of our home to other fellow travelers. We often travel via homestays and farmstays and we wanted to share that same kind of experience with others.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2005
What makes this apartment unique

We have lived in this neighborhood for over 30 years. In 2005 we moved just 12 blocks to our current location. What continues to attract us is Mt Tabor Park, one of the finest city parks in Portland which sits in our back yard, and the view of the city.

A very good place to stay

We stayed at this home in July and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It felt like a true home from home but set in a gentler time. A very quiet area but also most convenient to all that goes on in Portland and not too far from downtown. Home sits in and is surrounded by a wonderful neighborhood of hilly tree-lined streets. We got a great Portland Oregon vibe staying. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, we will be back here again.

Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped. Good location for our needs. Owners very helpful. Though little help was not needed, they were available in the same house.
Recommended for:  Age 55+
Owner's Response: It is so nice Bill thought well of our property! We try to be available but not in the way for our guests. And please note, although guests 55 and over are comfortable here, others of all ages are always welcome!

Great place for 2 people. Is larger than what you see in pictures. Large gas fireplace in living room. Good size kitchen and bedroom. Easy parking on street. Great view. Hosts very accomodating. We would stay here again.

Wonderful Place for Two People To Stay In Portland

This is a beautifully kept one bedroom apartment with a queen bed, big ktichen and comfy living room. It has a fantastic view of Portland from Mt.Tabo srrounded by lovely gardents. You will be sharing the terrace with the owner, two sweet dogs and two cats. However, it is rare that there will be sitings of anyone and your privacy will be respected. There are stairs to the apartment and since it is on Mt. Tabor the streets are very hilly. It is in a great neighborhood and you can walk to a very nice breakfast place or have lunch and dinner at a great pub. We stayed for 5 weeks and totally enjoyed our experience.

Wonderful

Doug and I stayed in this wonderful apartment for a week in July of 2011. The views from the patio were fantastic. We enjoyed sitting outside with our morning coffee and being visited by the 2 family dogs. The hosts Michael and Bonnie made you feel very welcome - Bonnie gave us homemade pie for dessert one evening! The apartment is very clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water for the shower. The kitchen is well supplied with whatever you need to cook your meals. Doug and I hope to return there again for a week this year. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Portland - as long as they leave me a week to spend there!!
Owner's Response: Yes, our 2 Portuguese Water dogs (Rainy Day and Annie Oakley) are our most important ambassadors and official greeters followed closely behind by Paris and Lima Purrru, the cats. However, we are careful restrict their visits to the patio outside the apartment only because we are aware that some of our guests may have pet allergies.
