Nearest Subway station: JAUME I
Cozy 30 sq mt loft, recently updated with high quality furniture. Wood beamed ceilings & a cool ambience makes for an extremely inviting stay. A small balcony overlooks this quiet, pedestrian-only street in the heart of Barcelona’s fashionable Born district.
El Born is the quaintest and quietest neighborhood within the Gothic district. Its meandering, medieval streets are not just lined with history, but also boutiques, tapas bars and gourmet restaurants. Its plazas offer you outdoor eating and a place to ponder what life must have been like here in the Middle Ages.
Breathtaking palaces and museums (Picasso, Costume History) are just steps away. The Palau de la Musica, The Ramblas, The Boqueria Market, The Plaza Reial and even the beach are within an easy walking distance.
A 3-minute walk to the subway at Jaume I, to the Picasso Museum and 5 minutes to St. Caterina Market.

Miguel purchased this studio in 2001
I'm barcelonian and love my city. I've been living in the area for more than 10 years and I always had the feeling that walking around just to get some fruit or milk is like a daily present. There is a unique atmosphere in the old streets around. The studio is redecorated every few years improving the interior, amenities and atmosphere. This is a place made as if I went abroad I'd like to get something like that to live in.
The space itself is a very pleasant place to stay with all kind of amenities you could need.
Within 2 minutes walking you can get:
-Sta Maria del Mar a Gothic Church of the XIV century
- Step distance to top restaurants
-Beautiful medieval streets with arty shops, cool fashion stores, a nice train station, a green park with museums and a Zoo
-Vila Viniteca: A wine store with more than 3000 spanish wines. Experts shop assistants.
-Colmado Vila A delicatessen food store (in front of the wine store)
-a long long beach with showers, bars, sailing activities (at 10 minutes walking)
My husband and I stayed at Miguel's apartment because we wanted a real neighborhood living, not a hotel living, experience. We had a ball. Shops, restaurants are around the corner. We fixed some meals ourselves. The neighborhood is one of the 'in' neighborhoods, especially around the Sept 11th Holiday. Miguel was very helpful. Converters, iron, ironing board, dishes, coffee maker, all available, as well as guide books and maps.
We loved our stay here! The studio was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we required. We enjoyed coming home and opening the large window to feel the breeze and look out on the small walkway below. This place is very close to restaurants and plaza cafes (so in the evening you may hear a bit of singing), the Picasso Museum, local stores (bakery and wine and cheese shop etc.) and is in walking distance to many areas of interest as well as to local bus stops. Overall a charming place to stay and the owner, Miguel, a wonderful host.
We chose Miguel's property based on the already great reviews on VRBO and it did not disappoint. By the end of out 12 days we felt completely at home and didn't want to leave. Although the apartment in small, it has everything you need (and more) to enjoy your stay. We loved walking to the surrounding markets for fresh seafood, bread, ham, and wine. We would just relax at the end of the day with the balcony doors open with our food and drink and unwind. Thank you Miguel for such a wonderful break from work and school!
We truly enjoyed our stay. Could not ask for a better location for access to the city, metro and many great sites just a short walk. Shops, bars, etc. at the door step. Cannot wait to return. We have already recommended the property to others.
We had a wonderful stay in Barcelona and this apartment was perfect, location, supplies and amenities. The apartment was spotless and it had everything we needed. We loved how close we were to wonderful restaurants and great sightseeing opportunities. I would highly recommend this rental. My only note would be potential renters should be able bodied, there are 37 steps to the apartment door...great workout after all the wonderful food we found in a beautiful city.
My husband and I stayed here for 6 days and I must say it was hard to leave. Miguel, the owner, offers a tranquil studio apartment with everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel, but better! He has thought of everything a traveler would need, maps, guidebooks, recommendations ,etc. The studio is very comfortable and quite. The space is perfect size for two. Amazing open floor plan with sitting and sleeping area separated with the perfect amount of storage/closet space. Very comfortable bed and sitting area. We enjoyed sitting in the living room area with the windows open to the terrace, made us feel like locals. Well-appointed kitchen with everything you would need. The location is perfect. Close to everything in the El Born and Gothic Quarter. Wonderful places to eat, shop, plus jamon & wine shop right around the corner. Our next trip to Barcelona we will be staying here again. Thank you Miguel for all your attention to the details.
Pedestrian street. Safe, quiet amd used. Fashion, Jewelry shops and the best Wine shop in town in the street. Sta Maria, a gorgeous gothic church and the life around, just around the corner. The location is unbeatable.
