Truly a Home Away

Date of Stay: June 2009
We are a Bahamian family living in the United Kingdom – the Isle of Man exactly.
When we decided that we were going ‘home’ for a long awaited holiday, we searched the Internet for premium but affordable accommodations. My daughter found Seagrapes Manor on the Bahamashomeaway website. It seemed too good to be true. I immediately deputised my Bahamian nieces to investigate the accommodations in person. One of the Bahamashomeaway partners, Sharlene Hanna was very welcoming and allowed time for my nieces’ inspection of Seagrapes Manor. The report I received from my nieces’ was, ‘Great! It looks good! Get it! Book it!’
Four of us, plus a guest from Canada, (who stayed for one week), arrived at Lynden Pindling International Airport on 13th June 2009 and were greeted by members of our family and Sharlene who had arranged almost every essential for our holiday. Because we are Bahamians with family and friends only ‘a telephone call’ away, we did not need Sharlene’s help too much during our holiday. However, it was very convenient to know that Sharlene and her family lived on the ground floor of our accommodations.
Except for construction noise, on the new homes, the area was very quiet.
This was the beginning of a very comfortable and memorable three weeks at Seagrapes Manor. With the help of our SUV, (it was FAR TOO HOT to walk), we soon discovered how near we were to the beaches, hotels, grocery stores, drug stores/chemist and gym. After going out and about in the heat it was a pleasure to arrive at our air-conditioned accommodations and relax or swim. There are televisions throughout the accommodation; however, it is not Sharlene’s fa
