Lake Mead Recreational Area, Red Rock National Conservation Area and Valley of Fire State Park are great are close enough for easy access to hiking, biking, boating, fishing, swimming & water skiing. Historic Boulder City, known for being the only city in Nevada with no gaming, is full of quaint antique stores and perfect for enjoying a glass of fine wine at Milo's Sidewalk Cafe on a lazy afternoon or stroll through the Art in The Park art fair held every first weekend of October and while you are there, you have to visit the magnificent Hoover Dam that bridges the Colorado River and connects the State of Nevada to Arizona. To escape the heat in the summer you may wish to visit Mountain Charleston and enjoy hiking in cooler weather or do some snow boarding/skiing in the winter months. A 2-5 hour drive will get you to National Classics like Bryce & Zion Parks in Utah, Grand Canyon and Joshua Tree Monument in Arizona & Death Valley & Yosemite Park in California.
