BARN ON THE BANKS OF YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK

Gardiner Barn Rental Photos and Description

3 BR, 2 BA, sleeps 8-10

Wow..what a view..love the loft! You may not have been 'BORN IN A BARN',... but here's your chance to STAY in one! We invite you to stay in our barn loft and call it your home, while you relax and enjoy our nation's largest and oldest National Park.

Barn on the Banks is located in a quiet area on the outskirts of Gardiner, Montana. We are less than 1 mile to the park's North Gate Entrance, famous for the Teddy Roosevelt Arch, and within walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, a grocery store, post office and excellent trout fishing.

Yellowstone river runs through this small town that is nestled at the foothills of Electric Peak, a majestic mountain that carries snow throughout most of the year. We are located at the end of a lane with no through traffic. Our loft overlooks the confluence of the Gardiner and Yellowstone rivers, and has unobstructed spectacular views of the mountains. We border the river and we are directly across from Yellowstone Park.

A short walk down the bank takes you to the river's edge where you can sit and enjoy nature, including frequent fliers of ducks, geese, bald eagles, and osprey, or possibly see a family of otters playing in the water.

From our deck you can view hummingbirds, mountain songbirds, and wildlife including deer, elk, Big Horn sheep, Pronghorn (antelope), or possibly see a bear, wolf, coyote, or bison.

One summer while sitting on the deck of the barn, my husband witnessed a doe deer giving birth to twin fawns. We frequently saw mama deer and her little ones close to our house and barn throughout the summer. This is truly an area you'll be able to experience nature.

The barn has never housed animals. The barn loft was renovated in 2008-2009, and features a full kitchen with all new appliances, comfortable seating in the living area, and a large deck that looks into Yellowstone Park. You can sit by the fire on a chilly night, or cool down with air conditioning on a hot summer day.

There are amazing views from all areas of the loft made easy by several large windows. The master bedroom has a king bed, private bath, air conditioning, a fireplace and your own private balcony to sit, relax and enjoy the sunset.

The 'Queen Room' is kissed by the morning sun, and has the ambiance of a fireplace as well. The 'bunk room' has two sets of bunks, one is a double bed topped by a twin, the other is a regular twin over twin. The sofa in the living room converts to a full size bed.

Luxurious property on the edge of the wilderness

This property was an absolute wow.

By day: Minutes to the gates of Yellowstone and the Boiling River, walk into Gardiner town to enjoy Tumbleweed cafe. Unbeatable location, view of herds of elk grazing in the rippling hills of North Yellowstone. We drove a short distance to the Lamar Valley to see the bison, wolves, bighorn sheep, etc in the rich with wildlife area. House is equipped with fishing poles, kids floaties and toys, binoculars, and our hosts even provided a spotting scope.

By night: Watched the moon and venus rise over the hills, silence with the sound of the babbling river below. Home is warm with fireplaces and fully stocked kitchen (all the spices for cooking, hot chocolate, popcorn, everything you need) for absolute comfort and relaxation after -20deg cold spell outside.

If you want a stunning, whimsically decorated property on the edge of the wilderness, look no further. The hospitality of our hosts just topped off a magical experience. Cannot wait to come back.

Barn on the Banks was our destination over Thanksgiving and our trip was rewarded with a warm, cozy, and welcoming house that more than exceeded our expectations. The house was tastefully decorated and felt like home! We found everything as described and advertised- much to our delight. It was clean, very homey and the view was spectacular- actually spent a good portion of the day driving in to Yellowstone and enjoyed the incredible views through Mammoth and Lamar Valley. Though it was cold, we fished the Yellowstone right below the cabin, saw plenty of wildlife and left wishing we could stay longer. Ken and Linda are incredible hosts who make you feel like family. Our family highly recommends Barn on the Banks and we are already making plans to return some time. 5 stars plus from us!

We just returned from a week long family trip at Barn on the Banks! Ken and Linda have truly made the loft your home away from home. We traveled with 6 adults and one 18 month old and had everything we would ever need and more. Let's start with the beautifully decorated loft that had everything we needed. Fully stocked kitchen, coolers, bathrooms with spa amenities and a wonderful deck to sit outside on, enjoy a meal or glass of wine while looking at wildlife, listening to the river and watching a beautiful sunset. Traveling with small children can be difficult, but the owners had a high chair, pack and play and a full chest of toys, our little one has never had so much fun. This is a must book vacation rental, you will love the easy access to the Northside of the Park and a wonderful home to stay in with very accommodating owners.

We loved staying at your penthouse suite above the barn. Don't let the word "Barn" turn you away. This place is adorable. Their was 3 couples and we each had our own bedrooms. Master bedroom has a king bed with private bath. Decorated very country and we went home with many ideas for our own homes. The owners are super nice and have put a lot of love into making this a great vacation get away. Yes. you are less than a mile from the entrance and you can see people coming and going into Yellowstone from the back deck. We saw elk and deer 10 feet from the deck in the morning and evening. Highly recommend this vacation rental
