Fisherman and Hunters:
-The Deschutes River is well known for it's fly fishing and is one of the greatest trout, steelhead and salmon fisheries in the United States. Because of it's diverse aquatic habitats it offers incredible fishing year round. There is a large amount of fish that run over Sherar's Falls on fall and summer runs. Although it is Reservation Land it is always exciting to watch the Local Native American Fishers scoop the massive fish from the falls from their towers with nets.
-There are numerous Wasco county fishing lakes such as Rock Creek for example that are scattered within miles of PineHollow Reservoir.
-PineHollow Reservoir is heavily stocked all season and many trophy trout and bass have been caught from the bank! The annual fishing Derby on opening day promises to produce some impressive 'hogs'!
The Deschutes Canyon is home to mule deer, elk , turkey, and other abundant game. It is well liked by hunters.
