Welcome to Joshua Tree, a desert community of rugged mountains, playful granite piles, magically quiet nights, peace and solitude and all the rock climbing, picture taking and sightseeing you yearn for in your travels here. The studio apartment has it's own parking, drive, entrance, porch and outside area. it has privacy fencing, sound proofing, and extra thick walls to make your apartment stay a wonderful experience.
You can relax on the studio patio and take in the wondrous panorama of the skyline of Joshua Tree National Park. Just recharge and enjoy nature’s gift of wildlife and wild scenery. Enjoy the constant chatter of our cactus wrens, whose nest is a few feet from the patio or the family of quail who roost overnight in the yucca not far from your door. Perhaps a coyote will sing you a song. This is our desert music, a concert that welcomes you.
The studio is furnished for two. A comfortable bed, sparkling clean rooms, a kitchenette with a microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, frying pan and a variety of pots and pans, utensils and spices which should make anyone who enjoys cooking happy.
The porch sports a gas BBQ and affords privacy, comfort and incredible views of the park. When you’re ready for that walk the hiking trail is an easy 5 minute walk away. The Joshua Tree Highlands, where our studio is located, is a series of sandy roads, seldom traveled, where we all take advantage of our special surroundings with an evening walk.
If your sights are more ambitious we can provide you with horseback riding, rock climbing and biking, guided by local professionals. Or, you could travel into the park and visit the Wonderland or Parker dam or hike through any of a thousand granite valleys.
We are blessed with several super music festivals and Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneer town offering a great music venue. With spiritual retreats and yoga centers, with alternative health care, with fine health food stores, for such a tiny spot you’re sure to find something exciting to do. Enjoy your stay and come back.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2005
I once had a bed and breakfast in Hawaii and when building this home could not resist but to put in a small vacation rental studio that would be charming and affordable to adventurous travelers.
It is so quiet here, there are only the sound of birds and coyote choirs. Wildlife is abundant, and happy. The starry nights are vivid, partly because of low light pollution and the lack of humidity in the atmosphere. The milky way is velvety and bright here.
We stayed here back in December. Weather was great during day, chilly at night. The place has a good heater. Great decor. Loved the neighborhood. Walked everyday at different times and felt totally safe. Even met some neighbors riding their horses. Chairs outside to watch sunset. 10 min drive to a Wal-mart Supercenter. The little fridge has a freezer in case you're wondering about ice. Please, bring your dog only if you're sure they'll be with you at all times. Went outside without ours once, and she nervously scratched the door frame with her claw. We were devastated. The owner, Piper, was so kind to us about it. Still, I suggest keeping your dog with you at all times, even if you think it'll be fine for a few mins., so that what happened with us doesn't happen to you and to Piper again.
Tip: Go sit quietly outside in the morning with your coffee and be entertained by chubby, waddling Gambel's quails.
My partner and I stayed at the studio for one night. I really appreciated that it was available for one night stays. The studio was perfect!
my husband and I came to joshua tree for a wedding and had an amazing stay here. The place was well heated when we arrived and clean and cozy. the wifi worked great and the neighborhood was super cute.
we cooked our own breakfast in the kitchennette and the yorkie we were sitting came along and also had a cozy stay.
the only thing I think is good to know for future visitors is the dirt road was a little bumpy (likely due to the recent rain and snow storm) but our jetta handled it just fine with caution. we will definitely consider staying here again !
We could not have been more thrilled with our stay at Piper's immaculate and beautifully set up studio. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We cooked several meals a day, hung out in the cool studio, relaxed on the front porch, enjoyed the park only a few minutes' drive away, checked out the nearby restaurants, and just generally checked out from our everyday lives. Piper has really set this place up for you -- there's wifi, the kitchen is usable, there's a grill. And nothing beats sitting on the porch as the sun goes down, watching the glow disappear off the hills and the stars come out, as small quails and bunnies run by. And the price is unbeatable! Highly recommended for any individuals or couples who are looking to get away from it all for a few days and just be in the desert.
What a great place to get away from it all! It was so enjoyable that I plan to stay much longer next time. The studio was clean and very efficient. It's a great place to take a canine companion. We had wonderful walks right from the property. The monument is very close for sightseeing, hiking and artistically creative individuals. If all you need is a small place to hang your hat this is it.
We are just minutes away from the Joshua Tree National Park. There is also public lands available to enjoy right in this neighborhood. Enjoy bird and wildlife watching, hiking, beauty and deep quiet.
