Thanks for the hospitality. I have to let you know that the property managers were very helpful. We had a great time. We are already planning next years vacation and we want to book in advance. Will contact you soon for this. By the way we loved all the amenities. Cheers!
Our stay at Villa de Paradis was everything we hoped it would be. The villa is nicely appointed and has high-end finishes and furnishings. It was spacious and accommodated our family well. It is even better than the pictures. It was an easy place to stay and relax. Being on the W Resort property was great for the security, restaurants (great food and service), cafe, & other amenities. Estela, the owner was always responsive to our emails and answered our questions as well as gave us recommendations for places to go for shopping (Buen Provecho -amazing) & restaurants. The property managers were very responsive, helpful and nice. Everyone in our family loved watching our daily visit from the horses and seeing brand new fouls play and be with their mothers. The beach below the property was difficult to get to but once there we had an amazing time exploring the tidal pools and snorkeling and it was incredibly private. We had so much fun spending our days in the sun and enjoying the beauty that Vieques offers. We enjoyed the pool as well, especially the kids.
There are a few things that I want to mention to others to have a heads up. Unfortunately, we didn't find the formal path to the larger, less rocky beach until our last day. This path is just a few houses toward the end of the road. We wish we had known about it earlier so we could have explored and enjoyed that beach as well. It would have been great to have a 'what you need to know' guide at the house to orient new visitors to the house and immediate surrounding area. We also were able to connect to the house WiFi but could never get an actual internet connection. Many of us had limited or no cellular service on the island so having active WiFi would have been nice but we never had an actual internet connection. So for those that this is important (I actually benefited from being not connected as it encouraged me to stay connected to my family and surroundings without distraction), you may want to get confirmation that the internet connection will be active, not just an active router. Given my limited cellular service while staying at the house, I wasn't able to contact the owner to resolve the problem and honestly didn't want to waste time dealing with it. I did contact the property managers but they couldn't help resolve it. It wasn't a big deal but frustrating as we were expecting internet access. We loved our stay here and are already planning our next visit.
There were six of us staying including 3 kids, ages 13, 10, and 5. The views were incredible and the location was very private and relaxing. The house was exactly as described and we had no troubles with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, or any of the other appliances. Joeanna was so friendly and helpful!
The whirlpool function in the tubs was not working, but this was not a big deal. And it is true that the windows leaked a little when it rained hard, but again, this was not a big deal at all.
We had a splendid time at Villa de Paradis and would happily return.
We were thrilled to find that the house was even more beautiful than we expected! Million-dollar views from the pool deck! We spent lazy mornings around the pool and then either ventured out to the beaches (Blue Beach, Red Beach) or walked down to the small private beach by the house. The setting could not have been more perfect. House managers were very helpful (thank you Hector!) and we did pay extra to have the housekeeper come every morning so we really had the feeling of staying at a hotel (beds freshly made, clean towels--well worth the cost). We walked over to the W a few times for a drink, lunch, or tennis and we liked having the BlackBeard sports on site there to help us organize a few outings or to rent beach umbrellas (a MUST for trips to those beaches, there is no shade and the sun is HOT). Could NOT have been a better week. I am slightly hesistant to post because I don't want anyone to know about our "secret" location!
Sounds like things got even worse for the folks who followed us. First of all, the house is very well situated and laid out. Great views. Nice pool, deck and covered porch. Great to be inside the W property. AC and hot water were fine. BUT no wi-fi, several windows/doors leaked when it rained. There was nothing to keep horses from the pool deck and they made a mess of it. 4 coffee cups for a house that holds 8. No bowl suitable for salad or a bag of chips. No access to laundry. Tiles came crashing down from the kitchen wall one day.
We loved the house. I took my 3 children, ages 2, 4, & 6 and despite some hazards (no rails on stairs, pool), they did great. The house is beautiful and the view is fantastic. We had horses in our yard a few mornings. The kids loved catching geckos. There is a great beach just a short walk away. The house has a good selection of kitchen things - pots, pans, blender, serving pieces (trays), and such. I liked being in the W compound as well - it just added a bit more security. The house is very well decorated and clean. There is a pool house that blocks the house to the east which is good.
We did have problems with the air conditioning. We had repair people there quite a bit and we did have a few miserable, hot nights in 2 of the rooms. The management was not as responsive as we would have liked. But the one system was fixed within a few days and the other by the next day.
DO NOT rent from this woman, she is a liar!
She told us you could walk right out from the house and swim, there wasn't even access to the "beach" we had to trespass onto the neighbors property to walk along their locked up steps. Once down there we were all incredibly disappointed to find a beach of mostly rocks definitely not safe to swim!
She told us there was wifi (not even a router in the house) she said she was "working diligently' to fix the lack of wifi, but when we spoke with the property management company they laughed. They told us there hadn't been wifi in the house for months.
The air conditioning was broken in the half the rooms, she had a couple fans around (I am pretty sure she knows the A/C is unreliable)
The dishwasher was broken.
She had the HOT water turned off to the the bathrooms!! There are these big luxurious bathtubs that no one could use.
The infinity pool was under filled and broken.
She told us we could use the W resort amenities (pool, beach ect) we get there and they tell us we have to pay $65 A DAY PER COUPLE.
SHE IS A LIAR, SHE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU AFTER YOU PAY HER!
