Just steps to the water. Drink your morning coffee watching ospreys, eagles and other wildlife. Four miles from downtown Ellsworth, 30 minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Enjoy the peace and quiet of Union River Bay. Spend your day reading, skipping rocks, kayaking or swimming. If you choose to take a day trip, you might like to head to the town of Blue Hill to hike the mountain and pick blueberries or have lunch at the waterfront park. Kids love to jump off the big rock at high tide! Bar Harbor is fun for dinner and shopping. You may want to catch the ferry to Nova Scotia for the day. Be sure to check Reel Pizza for pizza and a movie in a living room type atmosphere. The community band plays often in the gazebo. Bring a lawn chair, sit back and listen to the band favorites or just people watch. Sunsets on Cadillac Mountain, in Acadia, are a Maine summer tradition. Bring your favorite tailgating food and park at the Blue Hill Point for the best view. Back at the house, enjoy the sunset as you stroll along the rocky beach, just steps from the house! If total relaxation is what you are looking for, this is the place to be.
