Summer:
Natural sandy water plus perched beach with granite steps into the lake makes the beach area perfect for small children who prefer shallow water depths with a gradual decent into deeper water. Water trampoline perfect for the older kids plus a stream where fish and frogs can normally be spotted for the little explorer. 60ft dock. Great fishing. 2 Kayaks & row boat. Beach fire. Meredith fireworks can be viewed without leaving the house; if you venture as far as the beach or dock there is no better viewing! Two miles from Meredith Village which must be the prettiest town in the Lakes region with the best restaurants and many activities. Check out Weirs Beach and the drive in movie theater, arcade, public beaches, crazy golf, water park and pier very close by car (10mins) and return to the beauty of Meredith. Bring your camera for your memories, stunning sunsets over the lake, the loons but don't forget to also capture our duck family who normally visit often.
Fall:
Enjoy amazing views of fall foliage around the lake without leaving the house! On the cool nights enjoy the two story natural rock, wood fireplace and feel the warmth of the radiant floor heat from the energy efficient geothermal system. Alternately light the beach fire, listen to the lap of the water and watch the shooting stars! Meredith is a pretty two mile walk if you are feeling fit. Hannaford grocery store and cinema less than 5 mins. Gunstock for hiking, horse riding and many activities within 20mins. Antique stores galore and don't forget the factory outlets!
Winter:
Watch from the house a winter wonderland as the lake transforms into a little town of ice fishing huts as Meredith is home of the ice fishing derby. Enjoy beautiful Meredith as the town lights up in tiny white lights like a story book with the best restaurants. Skiing and tubing less than 20mins away at Gunstock or Ragged Moutain. Many other skiing areas close by. Most years a little area is cleared close to the house for ice skating on the lake! We have never seen a bear but we have seen the prints on the beach (probably visiting our stream). Cozy up with the 2 story natural stone wood burning fireplace.
Ski:
Gunstock Mountain within 20mins offers cross country and down hill skiing plus tubing. Ragged, Cannon, Waterville & Loon within one hour. Please advise if you plan to ski so we can look for discount coupons for you!
