Could be more comfortable

The setting is beautiful. Wonderful views from every window. The mattresses need to be updated, not comfortable at all. The sofa also has some areas that are very hard to sit on.
The ceiling started to fall apart over the master bedroom due to a rain storm the night before. I don't know how it could have been fixed in a few hours before the next renters arrived?
There were people living in a trailer with a dog on the property right next to the playground which was very disconcerting. I did not intend to share the property with anyone else.
Lots of posted rules to follow! We were even accused of putting scratches in a butcher board block that was not to be used.
I think this could be a great rental but just not there yet.
The owners seem like wonderful people but we never felt totally relaxed there.

Owner's Response: The master bedroom mattress and the first floor bedroom mattress are both brand new, along with both sleep sofas. All the other mattresses in the home are less than 6 years old. The trailer and dog they are referring to were on the property next door and since have been removed. We would not allow anyone else on the property except those who are renting for the week. We only asked if they used the butcher block but never accused, as they should know since they received their whole security deposit back. Examples of "rules" we ask is that all the windows and doors be closed if the central A/C is running. We ask that children rinse off their feet, in the outside shower, before going into the house. We ask that the fire in the fire pit not be left unattended, for safety reasons. We just ask that our home be treated like you would treat your own. There was a very small leak in the master bedroom from a storm that hit the week of their rental. We did buy steaks and chicken to apoligize for the small inconvenience of the leak. This problem was fixed immediately after their departure and before the next renters arrived. We have many families who stay at our property who are very comfortable, happy and satisfied with the accomodations and privacy.
