This is what you think of when you think of a classic oceanfront cottage in Maine! Merton's muse is located directly on the ocean with easy access to multiple private beaches. The cottage has a private yard and large lawns. This simple cottage is located down a very private cottage road in a charming neighborhood that is great for biking or walking while you're exploring the multiple nearby beaches, coves and marshes of exclusive Granite Point. Within bicycling distance are the restaurants, shopping and activities found in either Biddeford Pool or Kennebunkport. 15 minutes away is the Fun Town amusement park, and the shopping outlets in Kittery and Freeport are both about 1 hour away. The cottage has a one floor layout and a large deck that runs the whole front of the cottage so that you can enjoy each evening's sunset over the Atlantic. Come be our guest this summer!

The cottage is quietly nestled down a cottage lane between Biddeford Pool and Kennebunkport. Restaurants, shopping and numerous activities are a nice bike ride away. Kennebunkport Village is 10 minutes by car. 3 amusement parks are within 15-20 minutes. In addition, fishing charters, whale watches, bike rentals, windsurfing rentals are all nearby. Outlet Shopping in either Kittery or Freeport is 45 minutes away. Shopping at the Maine Mall is also 30 minutes away.

Having never been to Maine or booking a vacation rental property on the internet I didn't know what to expect. I was hoping for the best but prepared for anything. We were extremely thrilled with the rental house. The accomodations were phenomenal. They were rustic, perhaps not what others would appreciate but exactly what I love. The views were outstanding. If you appreciate a quite cove in a quiet area, this is exactly what you're looking for. If you want people, noise and flashy tourist attractions, this place is not for you. We are already planning on a rental at the same location for next year. Oh yeah, we ate lobster everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent retreat at the edge of the world

This is a great location to watch the world go by slowly as you take in the tide rising and falling, stroll to a beach that has almost no one else on it, and try to decide to eat on the porch or head out to a myriad of restaurants running the gamut from diner to fine dining.

The location faces southwest and enjoys direct sunshine from about 11:00 to sunset. The building is a traditional cottage with good cooking facilities and a great fireplace. The neighbours are hard to see and hard to hear. It is a great spot for a quiet retreat from the world.

The cottage and facilities are exactly as described in the listing. The directions and information provided was accurate.

The view was spectacular and the cottage is 1950's quaint.
It's private and secluded. It did need some cleaning and some updates to the bedding. Overall we had a great time climbing the rock, checking out the tide pools, long walks.
