Really enjoyed our vacation. First "family" trip since the adoption and they are 2 and 3 years old. They saw so much and had so much fun. We went to the Linville Caverns and falls, historic W. Jefferson...etc! My niece and nephews joined us on the 18th and my boys were so surprised! Thank you for letting us use your home for our first family vacation. It was a fantastic time! God Bless you!
I loved my visit in the Secluded Hideaway. Everything was clean and setup when I arrived. The best part is the front/side/back porches. There are swings, rockers and gliders. If you want to just relax and enjoy the environment and deer then this is a dream spot. West Jefferson is such a lovely place with friendly folks. I loved it.
My sister and I had a wonderful vacation at the Secluded Hideaway with our children. It was beautiful and quite. We enjoyed the shops in West Jefferson and in Boone. My husband came up mid week and he and my son went golfing at the Mountian Aire golf course. They said it was beautiful. On Friday we took the whole day and went to Damascus, Virginia about 1 and 20 mins away. We rode the creeper trail. 17 mile low grade down hill bike trail. You rent the bikes right there in town at one of 6 or 7 places. The trail is mostly shaded and runs along a gorgeous river. Perfect for the novice rider and any age for 7 to 80. Thank you for a very memorable trip. We are already planning for next year.
Second time staying at your home. Loved it just as much as the first time. Feels so much like home. The new deck is super. Thanks for sharing your home.
My husband and I and our dog feel very blessed to have found this property! It was exactly the kind of mountain retreat we were looking for: secluded, modern, very clean and fresh, plenty of room, and comfortable. The booking process was easy and there were no extra deposits, taxes, or pet fees - just a flat rate and optional cleaning fee. This is A SPECIAL PLACE - very much a home - with a Christian atmosphere - a place to really slow down and renew mind, body and soul. Even our dog sensed we were in A SPECIAL PLACE. We did not know much about Ashe County or West Jefferson before coming here but there is plenty to do in the area: Mt. Jefferson State Park is close by and really nice! We also found the Virginia Creeper Bicycle Trail (drove by car to White Top, Damascus and Abingdon Stations) and generally enjoyed the winding roads (Hwys 194, 88, 58 just to cite a few) and mountain views in and around the area. The Christmas tree farms are amazing and everywhere it seemed. If you love mountain art, antiques, quilting, you will love the town of West Jefferson. People are friendly and helpful, and the barbeque and potato salad we ate was good, too. We had great weather so we spent a lot of our time out - riding and taking pictures, but if the weather had been bad, we would have been just as content staying in and enjoying the covered front porch, the assortment of board games, multiple TVs, ping pong/pool table, and gourmet kitchen. We were truly sad to leave but felt completely refreshed from our stay.
My husband and I took a chance on another vrbo. This place is so awesome! Pictures that are posted on wondrful rental are accurate plus more!. The home is beautifully decoratrd and very welcoming! Our stay was just the best ever. Mr Bill and his son Bobby could not have been nicer. The home is fully equipped with everything you can imagine, some things like a pack and play and high chair you would think about bringing yourself! I would reccomend this place to anyone, especially a big family because it will hold at least 12 or so. We have already reserved for September and cant wait to come back
We just enjoyed our second stay at the secluded hideaway. We had a very comfortable stay both times
and can hardly wait until our next visit. We enjoyed the game room, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows at the firepit, and mostly just sitting on the porch watching the squirrels and chipmunks. We also enjoyed walking along Elk Shoals beach across the road. I like the fact the there are Bibles in all the rooms and the sign on the porch that says "BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD". Thanks Bill, Audrey, Bobby and Donna for making this place available.
