2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 4 comfortably

Located at the end of a peninsula, on Ficketts Point, with the ocean on three sides and a spectacular open view of the islands from the living room. This house is across the water from the town of Milbridge and has access to a sandy beach in back and a rocky beach in front.

Very quiet and very private.

You get sunset views over the water on one side and sunrise views on the other. If you like the sound of the ocean waves at night you will love this comfortable two bedroom home with a picture window and window seat in the living room looking out at the islands. Both beaches are private and easily accessible. You can launch a boat at the marina a mile down the road and cruise around the coast. There is nice kayaking and canoeing all around too. The house is great for a husband and wife private getaway or a retreat for vacationers wanting a quiet and scenic place to forget their worries and just relax. A cozy house with plenty of room inside and an amazing view.

3rd Season: This is the third summer we are renting out our summer home. The house is, and has been, immaculately clean. It is supplied with all the amenities. We have wireless high speed internet and cable t.v. too. The house is surrounded by water on three sides. There are two very accessible beaches, both private, included on the property. This is a very peaceful area situated at the tip of a peninsula. This is the last house at the very end. The second-to-last house back up the road is my fathers and he/we are available to assist with any needs and advice on what to see, where to go, etc.

This house accommodates 4 (6 if you want to put a couple children on the roll away beds). The house is great for a husband and wife getaway or a couples' retreat or for vacationers wanting a quiet and scenic place to forget their worries and just relax.

How far?: The house is 1½ hours east of Bangor and the Bangor International Airport. 4½ hours northeast of Portland, 5½ hours from Boston and 10½ hours from New York City.

What's nearby?: Acadia National Park. Also Campobello Island, New Brunswick (FDR's summer home) is within an hour and a half, as is Quoddy Head, easternmost lighthouse in the US.

Lobsters and clams are readily available in Milbridge (lobster and clam pots provided with cottage). This is one of the largest wild blueberry producing areas in the world, so there are plenty of berries available nearby during the season (late July through August); berry picking is permitted at Petit Manaan National Wildlife Refuge in season.

Activities in this part of Maine include hiking the Petit Manan Coastal Wildlife Refuge trails,visiting the pink granite shores at McClellan Park in Milbridge, exploring the crashing surf at Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor, hiking the Bold Coast up in Cutler, visiting the wonderful Milbridge historical society museum, and not to mention checking out the tourist attractions in Bar Harbor.

The house is 1½ hours east of Bangor and the Bangor International Airport. 4½ hours northeast of Portland, 5½ hours from Boston and 10½ hours from New York City. We are also 1½ hours from Lubec and Campobello Island and 1½ from New Brunswick Canada. Closer still is Acadia’s Schoodic Peninsula 25 minutes up the road and an hour away is Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

This area of 'Downeast' Maine is very rural with many traditional and quaint fishing villages. These small communities are filled with friendly people, interesting shops, antique stores and wonderful seafood restaurants. Dotting this area of Maine are lobster and seafood co-ops, which are terrific places to purchase affordable ocean delicacies. Watch eagles, terns, loons and numerous seabirds. Enjoy spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

Area activities in this part of Maine include hiking the Petit Manan Coastal Wildlife Refuge trails in Steuben, featuring over 3500 acres, coastal islands and blueberry barrens.

Really Nice Secluded Pennisula!

Located in a nice little village of Milbridge and only 30 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, but with much less traffic. Miss Tibbets fish market is located just before coming into Milbridge and is a great place for fresh good seafood, Cod, Scallops, Lobster and Shrimp, highlight!

The residence is an older house, but very clean and a terrific location with friendly landlord right next store, full of information about the area. The two beaches on each side of the property have very easy access and a fun stroll during low tide. Great views of sunrise and sunset when the sun is shining. Very peaceful location!

My only negative for this property is the cooking utensils, my wife and I cooked Seafood each night including Lobsters, lots of leftover pots, pans and utensils. Brand new electric stove operated great.

I would rent this house again.

This is a truly wonderful spot to spend time. You will not want to leave. This lovely home is situated at the end of a point and has water on three sides. It doesn't get any more relaxing than sitting on the expansive front lawn looking out over the ocean. The home is very clean and comfortable and has water views from every room. The town of Milbridge is minutes away and has a grocery store and restaurants. The location is perfect as all the places you want to visit are close by.
We really hate to leave this great spot and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants beauty, privacy and convenience.
