SPACIOUS LAKEFRONT HOME IN BERKSHIRES: WITH DOCK, HAMMOCK, KAYAKS, CANOE+++

Becket House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, studio/office loft, sleeps 6. laundry and shed

Summary Description:

Wonderful Lakefront house in Scenic Berkshires! This home sits on Robin Hood Lake, the largest lake in the Sherwood Forest area of Becket, MA. The house has 3 bedrooms: A first floor master with a queen sized bed, an upstairs bedroom with two twin size beds, and a second upstairs bedroom with a queen bed. There are 2 full baths, one on each level. Loft has office and studio area.

Relax, Swim, Fish, Hike, & Boat! This rental comes with use of 2 kayaks, 1 canoe, 1 paddle boat and several floats. There is a small sandy “beach” area in front of the dock- perfect for children to dig and play. This yard also has a Hammock, a Picnic Table and Patio Table with Umbrella, and a full size Propane Grill.

The House: The full kitchen has an island with 4 stools, and is fully outfitted with a full size refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, oven and 4 burner electric stove. A propane fueled fireplace heats the house for chilly nights, ceiling fans from the 30' ceiling keep air circulating and there is AC available in each bedroom.

Robin Hood Lake is a peaceful, quiet lake, called a “no wake lake” because no fast boats are allowed. It is very safe for children and swimmers, and ideal for canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats. In addition to the dock, our lakefront is “walk-in” friendly, with a gently sloping sandy bottom, perfect for swim and play. Also, a lovely, cutting garden is yours to enjoy.

The Berkshires: The Berkshires are a noted cultural & arts center. Within minutes of this house… Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival, Shakespeare and Company, multiple summer theaters, Kripalu Yoga Center , Canyon Ranch Spa/Day Spa, Appalachian Trail Hiking area, museums, botanical gardens boutique shopping and more.

Extra Conveniences: Walk to “general store” for necessities, your morning paper or meals.

House has game tables (checkers/chess/backgammon/etc), scrabble, Monopoly, and Bingo, plus jigsaw puzzles and stocked bookshelves, and an entertainment area.

There is an office area with a desk, phone and wireless broadband internet , and a studio area with tales and shelves- perfect for any hobbyist.

COZY CABIN, GREAT LOCATION, QUIET LAKE

  • 5 of 5
Great spot for a family getaway. My son was happy to play all day in the lake, fish, kayak, and explore the trails around the lake. The cabin has a well-stocked kitchen and outdoor gas grill. If you don't want to cook, there is a family-owned country store a short walk away that serves homemade food all day. We took advantage of free dance performances at Jacob's Pillow, picnicked on the lawn at Tanglewood, visited the Norman Rockwell Museum, and shopped in Stockbridge. The owners had great suggestions for activities, area shopping, and area restaurants. The cabin is very family-friendly, the photos on the site were very representative. Comfortable living area and nice bedrooms and baths. The lake is great for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. No fast boats allowed. The gravel roads that surround the lake are great for walking, and the Appalachian Trail is only a few miles away. Can't wait to go back.

A GREAT, RELAXING GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
A charming house on a beautiful, quiet lake. I was able to kayak without motor boat wakes, swim, run and hike without interference. The corner store is an easy walk for a coffee, sandwich, supplies or the Sunday paper. It was a quick drive down the hill to the Appalachian trail and the shops in Lee.

THE PERFECT PLACE TO UNWIND

  • 5 of 5
Everything was in place here to make our week totally relaxing and peaceful.
The owners gave us directions to the nearest large store, and in the house itself they provided pretty much everything you could think of from kitchen utensils to kayaks. Apart from a couple of trips out (we went to a great concert at Tanglewood) we spent the whole time boating, swimming, reading and relaxing - a perfect place to recharge the batteries, just as idyllic as it looks in the photos.
If it's tranquillity you're after, I thoroughly recommend it.
