The home was built in 2006 on a gently sloping lot on deep, wide year round water in a cottage architectural style. The location is on the favored western side of Lewis Smith Lake close in to excellent dining, shopping and affords easy access to Corridor X. The home features a boat house with two jet ski lifts and two extra-wide slips each slip having its own high capacity boat lift. The ground floor opens onto a patio from which you walk directly onto the ramp to the boat house. A Hot Springs spa sits at one side of the patio on the spa deck. This level features two bedrooms, a game room with professional pool and game tables and all the accessories. A 42' flat screen HDTV and a home entertainment system are above a brick, gas log fireplace. Upstairs features a gourmet kitchen overlooking a breakfast nook. The great room has a 42' HDTV above a gas log fireplace; this opens onto a house wide deck with a screen porch. This level has three bedrooms, an office, a dining room and laundry.

Lewis Smith Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in the country and is widely known for its bass and crappie fishing. There are numerous fishing tournaments annually. Over five hundred miles of shoreline offer breathtaking scenery through long fingers of water with sheer rock cliffs towering above. Perched atop many of these cliffs are several stunningly beautiful, multi-million dollar homes. Our rental is located close to the dam and features access to the water and boat house directly off the patio without having to traverse a bunch of steps. Shopping, dining and entertainment are all close by. Five of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail complexes are within fifty miles. Birmingham offers the Zoo, The Botanical Gardens, The McWayne Center, The Civil Rights Museum, Sloss Furnace Museum, The Center for the Performing Arts, an Imax theater, theme and water parks, and more. The Space and Rocket Museum is located in nearby Huntsville. Rickwood Caverns and The Ave Maria Grotto are also close by

Additional information about rental rates

  • A week is $1800 @ six nights;seven days. All rentals require a $300.00 refundable security deposit.
  • We have a three night minimum and turnaround day is Saturday. Other days are available with prior approval. Less than three night stays may be available at the rate of $350 per day. Single days may be rented for special occasions at the daily rate of $500. A cleaning fee is charged for all rentals.
  • Any stay during a holiday week will be at the rate of $400 per night. As an example, any stays including days during the week of New Years Eve/New Years Day, Easter, Meemorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas will be at the daily rate of $400.

  • There is plenty of closet and drawer space in each bedroom. There are two master bedrooms. All mattress sets are new and quite comfortable. Our home has a private office and a five bedrooms. The bunk room has a single over a double plus a double bunk bed. We rent out our 29 foot aft cabin cruiser for $750 for your entire stay. She has a 2009 engine and drive and is easy and fun to drive. Our grandkids love to sleep onboard while she sits high and dry on her lift in the boathouse. She has shorepower, heat and a/c. If you rent her, the cruiser sleeps six. We also rent out our 28 foot pontoon boat. She has new upholstery and a 90 hp two stroke outboard and rents for $650 for your entire stay.

Notes: The home is tastefully furnished and decorated. Cooking utensils, dishes and tableware are all included. Linens, towels, wash cloths, etc. are all provided. A new washer and dryer with laundry soap, fabric softener and bleach are provided. There is a second refrigerator/freezer on the ground floor and guests may cook out on either or all of three grills. There is an extra tank of propane.

Golfers Paradise: We are located 25 miles from the 18 hole championship course Horse Creek in Dora. There are eight Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail complexes ( a total of some 270 holes) located from 50 to 100 miles away. The Trail is known world wide as an absolute must play facility. Take it from a former two handicap golfer, make it a life's goal to play The Trail at least once. I have played golf the world over and have not seen any course that is better than The Trail courses. Stay with us in our Bed and Breakfast rental, or get together three foursomes and rent the entire property. Either way, you will enjoy a golf vacation second to none!

Love to fish?: Lewis Smith Lake has provided several world records in a number of species. The lake has numerous fishing hot spots and you are best served with a GPS system equipped with a Fishing Hot Spots map either embedded or as a loadable chip. The crystal clear water and the heavy fishing will challenge the most skillful angler. Our guests like to leave on the mercury vapor light, and fish at night from the boat house.

Nearby Attractions: Birmingham is only 40 miles away offering The Birmingham Zoo, The Botanical Gardens, The Fine Arts Center, an excellent museum as well as numerous theaters. and a theme park. Nearby Huntsville offers The Space and Rocket Museum. Rickwood caverns is close by as well as The Ave Maria Grotto. Jasper offers several theaters and several excellent restaurants.

Thank you for allowing us to call your Lakeside Paradise home this Easter weekend! We have really enjoyed the views and peaceful surroundings not to mention the fabulous hot tub! Today we are grilling catfish caught off your dock. Johnny was excited about that after everyone told us how hard it would be to catch fish here in Smith Lake. We have all really enjoyed every minute and could not have asked for a more beautiful, comfortable home.
