About Tom & Julie Evans
Julie and Tom are originally from the Midwest. In 2002, Tom retired for health reasons and we traveled for 5 years seeking and trying to find the best Doctor to do surgery on his spine. We had sold our house and contents and first rented a small RV to see if Julie, (from the big city) liked Rv'ing. Our first trip was to U. of Penn. Hospital. What a trip, but she loved driving and living in it. Her friends were just flabbergasted! We then bought a little bigger RV, then a little larger RV and eventually a bus conversion. 75 feet overall length with our car being pulled behind it. It meant good sense for Tom's health as they ride like a dream. Julie took driving lessons and enjoyed driving the big rig down the highway. The Motor coach was actually 'Danica Patrick's' while driving Indy racing cars. In the process of our travels, we met a couple that invited us up to their personal RV site in Bigfork, Montana for a few days. It was quite a distance from Oregon where we were having our Motor coach remodeled & worked on. We had some time before we had to come back while waiting for parts. So we said, why not head up there? Once we got here, we were so impressed with the area that we stayed, left and came back once more. The couple that invited us up headed back home to Texas. Eventually on one of our last days here, we found the property on Lake Blaine for sale on a Sunday. We contacted our Realtor on Monday to make an offer. At that time, we learned someone else was bidding on it. We loved the feeling the property gave us and all of its' surroundings so much, we bid what they were asking. That was in the fall of 2006. We had to leave town right away to have the parts put on our motor coach and then went back to Las Vegas where we were living in a RV resort. That was where Tom had found the right surgeon. At that point, we had no idea what our plans for the property would be. We didn't even know we were so close to Glacier park. We returned in the Spring of 2007.

Why Tom & Julie Evans chose West Glacier
At that time, it had a 1926 barn on it and an old farm house. The setting was spectacular, but we realized it also needed a lot of work. Julie first got obsessed with the fact the lake view was blocked by low growth shrubs along the bank, so she went after it with a vengeance. (loping shears, hand saws, & various other tools in hand) I was overseeing the start of renovating the barn. By the time she got finished pruning away all the old growth from the lake, I had to hire a crew to come in with a grapple hook excavator and trailer to haul it all away. Then we tackled the old farm house. For practical purposes it should of been torn down, but instead, we did a lot of demolition and renovation. It was just dumb luck that the property was minutes from Glacier National Park, and centrally located to the tourist communities of Bigfork, Lakeside, Whitefish and Kalispell. Our vision became clear.... People would love to experience this fabulous area as much as had. Shortly after completing renovation on the house and rented it out for the 2008 summer season, we realized that we wanted to expand by building a log cabin. It was a long 3 year endurance test because of all the numerous permits required. NOW, we really have a resort! It has been described as a 'Piece of Heaven'
