Capturing islands, sea and sky, this cottage opens onto the bold Atlantic. Eagles and gulls tread the sky, as loons, eider ducks and seals bob in the waves between the rocky shore and the granite beak of Western Island. Lobster boats ply the gilt morning waters--as you relax on the deck, enjoying that first cup of java. The cottage sits on 1 acre+ with 180 feet of oceanfront. The living room is warmed by its ocean-stone fireplace and walls of time-mellowed knotty-pine. The master bedroom faces the sea, so the rhythmic pulse of the Atlantic serves as your lullaby, while Petit Manan Light winks in the distance. This venerable cottage, accented with antiques, is within easy striking distance of Schoodic Point, Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Fine restaurants, galleries and antique shops are also close as hand. The Atlantic Puffin colony on Machias Seal Island is well worth a day trip. The Cottage--a base camp for exciting activities.

Be sure to visit the Co-op in Corea for Maine lobster fresh off the boats. Walk the roads that wind through the village and see the sights. Beachcomb the pink, granite-bound Corea coastline and explore the tidal pools along the way. Wander over to Prospect Harbor and stop in at U.S. Bells Foundry and Shop. The drive or cycle around Schoodic Point is stunningly beautiful and the drama of high seas exploding on the Point is an unforgettable spectacle. A morning ride on the Winter Harbor Ferry to Bar Harbor is a great way to approach the bustling tourist town. Roam Bar Harbor at your leisure, then catch the last ferry back in the afternoon. Folks driving to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park might enjoy hiking up the trails of Mt. Champlain. The views of Frenchman Bay from the top are breath-taking. Back at the cottage, clear nights offer brilliant, starry displays. That row of lights twinkling on the horizon...a ship out of Bar Harbor bound for Yarmouth, Nova Scotia...Enjoy!
