The friendly Garden Island of Kauai basks amidst the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, about 20 minutes by air from Honolulu. Formed some six million years ago, the island is approximately 550 square miles, and is the geologically oldest and northernmost of the main Hawaiian Islands. It is home to Mount Waialeale, known as the wettest spot on the planet. With a population of 56,000, Kauai is known as the 'Garden Island'.
The temperate climate sees summer temperatures near 90 and enjoys winter evening temperatures in the 60's. Rainfall varies from 40 inches to 440 at Mount Waialeale. The island is known for its breath taking beauty, and has been the back drop for several major films including; South Pacific, Blue Hawaii, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Jurassic Park.
