PENTHOUSE

Our group of four had a very comfortable 10 night stay on the first floor (the 3rd floor penthouse was not available). The apartment was spotlessly clean and was extremely spacious. The main bedroom at the back of the apartment was so very quiet, with no street noise whatsoever. Furnishings and decor is not to everyone's taste - however lounges and beds are all very comfortable! The shower in the main bathroom is excellent, the 2nd shower was a good back up (not as much pressure/lower temperature). Washer and Dryer were brand new and worked well.
Stairs may be an issue for people with mobility issues. The first floor wasn't a problem for our group - however the 3rd floor would have been difficult for the oldest member. The apartment block is very secure and we felt very safe in the area. Would suggest running through the locks with the housekeeper when checking in as one of the locks isn't used (we accidentally locked out the penthouse party one evening - lucky there is an intercom!).
The location was great. A nice residential neighbourhood with the 6 subway just a couple of blocks away (less than 5 minute walk). Plenty of dining options within walking distance.
Booking and payment was straightforward. Lucia responded to all queries very quickly.
A great value apartment highly recommended for group travel (parties of 3 or more).

We spent a great week in NY. The apartment is very good and serves well those who prefer the feeling of being part of the city. The apartment is very spacious and is equipped with everything one need in a "home sweet home".
The location is excellent! From there you can easily go to anywhere by foot, metro or bus. There is much talk about the NY subway, but we gave preference to the bus, which served us amazingly.
The only downside to the apartment was the lack of lift. But this is easily overcome by all the good it provides.
We have not had the opportunity to meet Lucia personally, but she was very friendly and helpful in every contact we had.

Immaculate apartment fully equipped. Friendly housekeeper helped with luggage. Fully functioning adjustable air conditioning, TV with DVD player. Two bedrooms separated by a living room and dining room and a breakfast room with fully equipped kitchen, including washer dryer (fully functional). Loads of towels, sheets, etc. View of Empire State building from Lexington Avenue bedroom. Step out on to Lexington Avenue and look right and a view of the magnificent Chrysler building. You are just three blocks from the 33rd or 28th street subway on Park Avenue which will take you uptown or downtown (No. 6 train) in minutes. Charming Italian restaurant literally next door. Around the corner on Third Avenue is a full-service supermarket (Gristedes). Deli across the street. Liquor store on 28th. Check in and check out are speedy, uncashed security deposit check returned instantly with no questions. My brother and I (we are two retired bachelors in our sixties) have now stayed three times in this building, the first time at the top floor apartment, which is equally nice but involves more stairs) and plan to make use of it for our annual two-week September visits to NYC indefinitely, without looking for accommodation elsewhere.. SOLE CAUTION: THIS IS A WALKUP. IF YOU CAN"T HANDLE A FLIGHT OF STAIRS, IT'S NOT FOR YOU.
