Built in 2006, this cedar shingle, post and beam cottage offers comfort, peace and tranquility in an idyllic setting while you enjoy a dramatic view of big Maine woods and a 425 acre pond. Six hundred feet of private waterfront is yours that includes a private sandy beach perfect for you to relax, children to play, everyone to swim and to easily push off the canoe or the two kayaks. The acreage features wild flowers and ground covers and a variety of baby evergreens everywhere under a tall canopy of mature evergreens. The cottage: custom design in and out, several sitting areas, upscale kitchen with quality tableware, gas cast iron fireplaces in great room and master, luxury master bath with jet tub and glass door shower, screened porch, deck, maple floors and comfortable sleeping throughout including a Tempur-pedic deluxe mattress. Enjoy nature walks or biking on camp trails; Acadia Ntl Park, 35 minutes away. Convenient to coastal points, Schoodic, antiques, art galleries, pottery. It is a perfect house for one or two families. The back space in the loft is set up for sleeping and movie watching after a full day of activity.

All bath, bed and kitchen linens included. Kitchen, liquid hand soaps and laundry are all included. Also, paper goods included. Just bring binoculars, beach towels, clothes and food. Beach chairs, fishing gear and children's beach toys are included. 2 TVs for videos and DVD's. Movie collection for all ages. Many board games and a library including books written by Maine authors for all ages. Off property enjoy Whale watches, lobster boat tour, Schoodic Acadia area, Winery, art, many artisans in Franklin area besides Acadia on Mt. Desert Island. No pets, no smoking. Owner's boats only.

About Kathleen Cotter

We are a family of engineers, healthcare, and marketing/media professionals. The cottage was a joy to build and furnish. We are meticulous about how it is kept. We the senior Cotters are recently retired and able to enjoy more time in this special area. One of my favorite things to do on the property is to read a book in the hammock out on the point where at certain times of the day I can become distracted with wild life in and over the pond. The 600 feet of waterline is in view from this point. We want to share this experience with others who value the cottage and its surroundings.

Our property gives us the best of both world's of Maine - the quiet pond and big mixed evergreen woods with the bonus of salt water and Acadia National Park on MDI and Schoodic a short distance away . We constantly enjoy the diversity of our location.

What makes this cottage unique

Although we are down a camp road and seem away from it all, there is a convenient store next to the camp road entrance on the main road. We enjoy great blue berry pancake breakfast there. We can also buy milk, bread, newspaper, lunch, suppers and Friday night pizza. We can walk up with our kids for ice cream. We also use our camp roads for exercise. It is a good start for the day.

Other Activities: canoe, kayak, swim, fish on the pond, walk the camp roads to find much flora. Pottery, art galleries, wineries, unique shops nearby. Climb Schoodic Mountain (gorgeous view at top) and Tunk Mountain (secret lakes along trails). 25 minutes to MDI with Acadia and Bar Harbor; Acadia at Schoodic in good proximity. Day trips to Castine, Blue Hill, Deer Isle and Campabello Island, Canada (passport needed).

Golf: There are golf courses near Ellsworth or out and off Route 1 in Sorrento.
