Islandtime is a lovely beach cottage offering all the amenities of home. A screened-in shaded back porch provides a quiet area for relaxing after a long day at the beach. The beach access is less than a minute's walk from the front porch. Emerald Isle is known as a family town with generally uncrowded beaches, miles of bike paths, ice cream shops and natural areas. The NC aquarium is only 6 miles from our home and is wonderful for all ages.

If you enjoy kayaking, there are two kayaks available for use. The sound is just across the street and a public access allows for launching for a day on the sound of fishing or picture taking.

For those who just can't get away, Islandtime has FREE wireless and wired internet connections along with free long distance. Each room has its own TV including a new 42' in the living area. Plug your iPod into the stereo and enjoy your own music collection. Our home is dog-friendly, up to 2, with no pet fee for 2011. Linens are not provided to keep the costs down, we recommend Island Essentials if you would like to rent linens.

About The Owner

Rob and I were married on the island in 2001, with our 4 children standing at our sides. We love the serenity and peacefulness of the beach. Our home is a reflection of that enjoyment! Simple, clean and inviting.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2003
Why The Owner chose Emerald Isle

My husband grew up coming to Emerald Isle before the bridge was even built. He shared his passion for the small town and all its amenities. The best of both worlds, the sound and the beach are less than 2 minutes walk from each other in this ideal thin location on the island.

What makes this cottage unique

Within a short drive is the NC Aquarium, Fort Fisher, Swansboro, Bear Island State Park and Beaufort (a lovely boating town with neat shops).

Some houses are too small, some houses are too large, for us this house was JUST RIGHT! What a charming, homey cottage, filling all our needs. It was neat and clean, well maintained, and really pet friendly with screen door on the back porch and gate on the front porch so furry people can be outside but still be safe and enclosed. We especially appreciated the privacy provided by landscaping -- large trees and shrubs make for a quiet, private yard -- unusual in a vacation area where people are everywhere. And one short block from the beach -- doesn't get better than that!!

Beautiful home, however the leasor did not emphasize that there is no linens, or towels, and when we flew from New Orleans, and arrived it was a shock, her responese was that it was noted in the conrtract, and we could rent them at a local store. This is the first time that I have rented a vacation home that there was no linen. Also, we were told that a refrigerator shelf was damaged by us which we did not agree, and after conversation the leasor gave us the option to pay for it or not, which I thought was very reasonable.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the feedback. We have adjusted the website to insure it is more evident that personal towels and sheets are not provided. As linen rentals and laundering are added expense, we do not include those to keep the rental costs more affordable for those who chose to carry their own linens. Delightful getaway

Halfway through our week here at Island Time and I already foresee a difficult departure. House has everything we need and we love having our dog with us. Great lot with privacy plantings, very short walk to the beach, plenty of room for all of us-including lots of choices for outdoor reading nooks. We adore the outside shower and screened porch. Wireless works great - as you can tell! There is only one thing I wish it had-a pool would be loverly. But we are content with everything here. Thank you so much!!!!!

Great beach cottage

Enjoyed a long weekend at this beach cottage. Well equipped kitchen, great location near beach. Nicely decorated. Only thing we felt would be helpful is more hooks in the bathrooms for towels. Thanks for allowing dogs as it was wonderful to have Boz with us. We are looking forward to our week in July.

Owners are great to work with very quick to respond.
