Great Taste of South America

I stayed for one week in February 2011, visiting from Toronto Canada. The Condo is clean as is the property, neighbours were very friendly, although not seen too often. The pool is very convenient, the gardens maintained very well. If you don't mind walking, it is about 25 - 30 minutes to a grocery store and laundromat, some amazing beaches are nearby. In the mornings there were always taxis lined up along the road to take you whereever you wanted to go. Again approximately 20 minute walk to the main road to catch a bus, they do come through town, but not as regularily as on the main road. Sunrise seen from the balcony is priceless. The locals were extremely friendly in Playa Cardon, and a great restaurant/pub is only 5 minutes from the condo. The owner of the property absolutely made the trip, this was our first time to Margarita and South America, so initially there was a bit of a culture shock, however the owner quickly made us feel at ease, and was so incredibly valuable as a source of local knowledge! I absolutely would come again but would love to stay longer than one week! The condo would be great for two couples, or a family of four or five. The two bathrooms definately come in handy when enjoying the island cervezas! The island has a gritty, south american feel, which is absolutely refreshing if you have grown tired of the all-inclusive type of vacation, be prepared to have busy, tiring days packed with great, new experiences, Margarita seems to be a tamed, taste of South America, fairly safe, and very beautiful.
