Additional information about rental rates

  • 3,300 U.S. dollars weekly during peak season plus 6% sales tax and cleaning fee
  • A $750 dollar refundable deposit is due at time of reservation to hold the date. 2 months prior to your vacation, half of the rent is due. Reservations may be canceled up to 2 months prior to move in date with a full deposit returned to you at this point in time. Once the reservation is less than 2 months away, the deposit is no longer refundable if you choose to cancel. One month prior to move in date, the remainder of the rent is due. Your $750.00 dollar deposit will be fully refunded to you after your vacation is complete and once everything is accounted for at Pura Vida. We look forward to your vacation at Pura Vida!
  • Long term renters welcome in off peak season. Weekends...1,100 per weekend plus 6 percent MI sales tax (cleaning included). Please come and enjoy the beautiful seasons at Pura Vida. Christmas and New Year's weeks are 2500 plus 6 percent MI sales tax.

Vacation on Lake Michigan and enjoy the beautiful surrounding Ludington area. The Ludington Lighthouse is visible to the north from our beach house. The beach is private and ready for you! Lake Michigan is such a spectacular site, especially up close and personal!

The stairway to the beach is now complete. (6/9/09) There are 308 steps down to the beach. We have 2 very young children, and we visit the beach often when we stay at Pura Vida. Actually, our three year old goes up and down the steps independently. You will feel like you are in your own world when you are on our beach since we have no neighbors to the north or south of us. The beach and the view are spectacular! Please come and see for yourself!

Pura Vida will be the perfect place to have your family gathering, reunion with friends, or romantic get away. There are so many attractions in Ludington and surrounding areas that this will become one of your favorite vacation spots for years to come. Don't miss the S.S. Badger Lake Michigan Carferry, sand dune rides at Silver Lake Sand Dunes, entertainment and gambling at Little River Casino, hikes to a lighthouse at Ludington State Park, shopping at local art galleries, chasing your children along the beach, and making lots of great memories you will never forget!

What a beautiful home and amazing view! We felt like we were on our own private resort. We stayed in Sept. and the sunsets were unbelievable. there were 7 young children in our group and the house served all of our purposes well, especially the great kitchen- 2 dishwashers-what a great idea! Loved the disco ball room too! We all had plenty of room. The children and adults all managed the stairs well and it was really worth the great private beach and views. There is a beach just a couple minutes down the road with no stairs that we checked out and was also very nice. I would highly recommend this place and hope to return myself!

Gorgeous home with breathtaking views!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pura Vida. It's decorated and furnished with such care that it's hard to believe it's a rental. Our teenagers loved the bonus room with the pool table and flat screen tv, and the adults enjoyed the beautiful views from both levels. Bring your IPod---you can play it through the built-in speakers. It's many stair steps down to the beach, but the beauty and privacy are well worth the trip. The owner is extremely friendly and easy to deal with. One of the best homes we've ever stayed in!

Our Stay for the week was Great, the house is beautiful! The 604 stairs to get to and from the beach are very challenging and not mentioned in the listing,they are not very kid friendly or anyone who has trouble climbing stairs. Also no cell service , they do provide unlimited dial out service for the phones. The house ammenities were very nice, comfortable beds, linens etc.. Thanks Again!

Fantastic property!

We rented this property with my entire family (grandparents and 3 couples with a total of 4 kids), 12 people total. We all had plenty of common space to interact, play, eat, cook, etc. But we also had our own private (well furnished) spaces to get away to as well.
The adult foodies in our group enjoyed the gourmet kitchen with six burner stove, granite island, etc. The kids loved the game room, generous yard and giant sandbox by the house.
We made a daily trip down to the beach, but the large amount of stairs (300+) made this a bit of a challenge for the small kids (backpacks worked great!).
Nearby Ludington is a cute little town with shops, a small children's museum and a wonderful waterfront park (great playground for kids). We also enjoyed hiking and renting paddle boats and canoes in Ludington State Park (a 20 minute drive). The state park also has paved bike paths, but we (the adults) chose to ride our bikes out on the less traveled country roads. The nearby reservoir is an interesting thing to see (walking distance).
In the evenings we enjoyed family dinners at the giant dining room table, watching the sunset and campfires in the fire pit.
The main floor laundry facilities were a wonderful addition; we went home with mostly clean laundry!
During the reservation and pre-trip process, the owners responded quickly to our inquiries, were always professional and left many 'extras' at the house for us, including a 'Folder of Fun' with brochures and maps to lots of local attractions. The house does include dial-up DSL and satellite TV for when you must be connected.
I would recommend the property to others and we look forward to vacationing there again!
