Your Kona Beach House sits on the point of a bay with lush tropical landscaping, flowers and palm-trees surrounding a swimming pool and jacuzzi/spa. The serenity is not marred by street-noise or house-parties. Situated at Kona Onenalo: a gated 12-home complex four miles south of Kailua-Kona town and one mile north of Keauhou (a golfers' haven).
Your two-story Kona Beach House is about 15-yards (meters) from the surf; and the crashing waves on the lava and beach are best experienced from our two large lanais. You can watch the surfers, the sunsets, or just look at the turquoise blue Pacific Ocean where dolphins and whales swim. With a nearly constant temperature in the 80s, and a cool ocean breeze, your oceanfront Kona Beach House is a tropical dream.
It is ideal for multi-generation family vacations.
The oceanfront, two-story, 2000 square-foot house has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The main level includes a bedroom/study with two twin beds, full bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and spacious living room that opens to the main lanai with its dramatic Pacific Ocean view. We spend most of our time at home on this gorgeous lanai!
The top level has two lovely bedroom suites. The large master bedroom has a king bed and its own private lanai overlooking the ocean – an incredible view. The second bedroom has two extra-long twin-beds (that can be made into a second king-bed, if desired). Each bedroom has its own private bathroom.
As this is a tropical home with open-air louvered windows and strategically placed ceiling fans, there is no need for air conditioning - the nearly constant ocean trade winds fan a breeze from the ocean during the day and from the mountains at night.
Your Kona Beach House is RIGHT ON THE OCEAN! Just steps away is a “private” ocean swimming and snorkeling cove with live coral, undersea caves, and magnificent fish & turtles. (Note: we recommend only experienced ocean swimmers enter this cove as sometimes the surf and surge can be harmful to beginners.)
Additionally, there are two great beaches on Ali'i Drive. The first, Magic Sands/White Sands Beach, is a five minute stroll from the house, and is good for swimming and boogie boarding or board & body surfing. The second, Kahalu'u Beach, a ten minute walk, usually calm & safe, is great for snorkeling (and shore-entry scuba), and has green sea turtles that can be found feeding and sunning themselves.

YourKonaBeachHouse is our second home! We offer it as a vacation rental when we aren't using it and you will love the location, tropical-surroundings, house, and decor as your second home -- in Hawaii. The Owners are the Weiner family -- Mike, Gunnel, Karin, Sean, David and Liz. When not in Kona, we live in Los Angeles.
Mike Weiner purchased this house in 2004
Our house is one of 12 free-standing, 2000 sq-ft houses on a point of land protruding into the Pacific Ocean. It is truly unique -- it could not be built today because the house is too close to the ocean by present codes. The 12-houses are in a gated community with good parking, and our house is far from Ali'i Drive so that there is no street-noise. Since all of the owners are also using the houses as second homes, and only a few provide them as vacation rentals as we do, the community typically has only 2-4 of the homes occupied at any one time -- so tranquility is assured,
While enjoying the beauty of the surroundings, my guests and I have difficult choices to make each day: Putting on snorkel-gear and walking through our private gate into the water of our '4-mile cove', full of coral, fish, and turtles -- so appealing that the dive and snorkel boats often bring their customers. Or, strolling 100-yards to the popular White Sands (or Magic Sands) beach for swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, or just sunning. Often we do both of these, and finish the day in our pool and jacussi -- and enjoy drinks and a barbeque dinner on our lanai at sunset.
Two weeks in paradise for our family of six adults. The house is wonderful and well maintained and equipped and the owners were great with lots of advise and tips to make our stay better. The views from the house are spectacular, especially from the master bedroom lanai. The sound of the surf lulls you to sleep at night along with the the ocean breezes. The pool and hot tub are right in front of the downstairs lanai with very easy access and are very clean and well maintained .
If you are looking for the ideal family vacation spot in Hawaii, look no further, this is it ! Great views from the house and pool area, dolphins and whales just offshore, a snorkeling lagoon with private access and two beaches close by.
The landscaping is spectacular with tropical flowers, shrubs, trees, wonderful grounds to explore.
My husband and I traveled to Kona with our two children(ages 5 and 8) along with my parents. The house was as exactly as pictured. What stood out the most was the absolutely amazing and breathtaking view. The location was also great. On either side of the community there are beaches. One is awesome for snorkeling and the other is great fun for riding the waves. There was no need to search for any other snorkeling spot because everything we wanted to see was right there(we saw turtles every day!) Another great addition was having the swimming pool access right in front of the house! There was plenty of room in the house and the kitchen was well equipped, making cooking a breeze! The owners, Mike and his wife, were so pleasant, helpful, and easy to deal with. This was by far our best experience with VRBO.
Our family of six (two adults, two teens and two tweens) stayed here for over a week. The owner was kind, accessible and friendly, with lots of good tips about the local area. The pool was a godsend, especially for the younger children. It was our first time on the Big Island and we were not sure of what to expect. We ended up having a blast. There are tons of outdoor activities (hiking at Volcano Park, snorkeling, kayaking, etc.) and lots of great local restaurants and an excellent supermarket very close nearby. After having toured the island a bit, I would much rather stay in this part of the Island (i.e., south of Kailua-Kona on Ali'i Drive) rather than the resort areas at Kohala.
The residence was beautiful and the views of the ocean were better than the photos indicate. The residence was quiet (no traffic noise at all from Ali'i Drive), private and well maintained. All in all, an excellent location for an active family vacation!
We stayed in July 2014, my husband and I and our three adult children for one week. The location is amazing and the owners very helpful. The property has the older Hawaii feel to it, the landscaping is mature and impressive a tropical garden paradise. The complex was very private and even with the pool just steps from the porch it felt as if had the whole place to ourselves. We came hoping to see turtles and by the end of the trip had seen them almost every day. I think one of the best things about the place is the amazing view from the kitchen, when waves come in and can actually see fish swimming in them before crashing into the rocks. The owners are very helpful and can suggest things to do while you are there.
We had a great time enjoying the comforts of the Kona Beach House. Everything was as promised and Mike Weiner did everything he could to make sure our stay went well. We really appreciated that the house was well stocked w/kitchen supplies and paper goods. The picture of the pool and ocean almost puts us back on the lanai where we always enjoyed our morning coffee. The view is exactly as pictured. The house and grounds were well cared for and very clean. The location was great in that we were away from the traffic yet close to everything. The beach was a mere 10-min. walk. We certainly hope the opportunity presents itself so we can return to this Tropical Paradise.
The accomodations were great, all details were covered. The location was perfect. Saw lots of whales and dolphins. The view of the ocean, waves, surfers, and sunsets were spectacular. Jim & Phyllis
