We welcome you to enjoy Wintergreen, to retreat, relax and renew. This home, located in the Wintergreen Resort has fabulous views that are visible from nearly every room in the home, abundant natural light and great gathering spaces for large groups. Want privacy? There are 5 bedrooms, each with it's own bath, for private resting places.
The home is on a lovely wooded lot on a very private cul de sac. It provides easy access to all the resort amenities, but is out of the congestion and traffic. The home is very near several trail heads and the hiking is wonderful. Great opportunities for observing the animals and birds that make Wintergreen their home. The serenity and views are delightful. The back of the home has large decks on two levels and very interesting rock formations that set the stage for taking in the view. Travelers with disabilities or young children will appreciate the flat lot and the easy access into the home.
Upon entry there is a vestibule with a full laundry room to the right. This floor has two bedroom suites. One with two twin beds and one with a king. Both bedrooms have spectacular views and private baths with double vanities. There is a large family room with a wood burning stone fireplace. The family room has extensive windows to enjoy the view and there is access out to the ground level deck.
Up one floor is the main level of the home. It has a large well equipped kitchen, a large dining area with seating for 12, a great room with wood paneled cathedral ceilings and a large stone wood burning fireplace. These rooms all have either windows or sliding glass doors that look out on the view. Be sure to enjoy the glorious sunrise from the great room while you are there. The deck with ample seating and gas grill are accessed from this level. There is a master suite with a king size bed and a private bath with double vanities on this level. There is also a cozy bedroom with a queen bed and a private bath. On the third level of the home you will find an additional master suite with a king bed, great views, and a private bath with a double vanity.
This home is perfect for a women's spa or tennis outing, a men's golf or skiing outing, a group of educators attending a Wintergreen Nature Foundation Event, 5 couples who want to vacation together but want their privacy and their own bathroom, or multiple families looking to share a vacation retreat. We will also work to accommodate church youth groups.
We look forward to welcoming you to our home at Wintergreen and hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

As a Coast Guard family, the Blue Ridge Mountains have always called us back as we lived in coastal areas all over the country. Our college age children have gone to school nearby and have very fond childhood memories of camping in the mountains of Virginia.
Wintergreen is centrally located in Virginia and offers all the things we love to do....snow ski, lake swimming, tennis, hiking gorgeous trails, great micro breweries and wineries and just breathing in the cool dry air up there.
Waking up to the sun coming up over the mountains while sipping coffee on the deck is a simple luxury here. Just a short walk from the house is the trail head to Lower Shamokin Water Falls, one of the many gorgeous trails at Wintergreen, is another of our favorite things to do.
This is the third straight year my family has stayed at this wonderful house, and we can't wait to come back again next year! It's spacious and comfortable and the floor plan is excellent. The owners have been a pleasure to work with as well. Can't recommend this house enough. The views are fantastic!
Our family visited this home for Valentine's/President's Day weekend this year. The home was beautiful and had plenty of space for everyone to gather, but also the option for everyone to retreat to their own bedrooms/space for privacy, as needed. The view was gorgeous! The outdoor temperature was in the single digits and even dipped below zero with the wind chill, while we were there. We loved being able to start fires in both fireplaces to help warm the home. We had a wonderful time together and are thankful for the opportunity to have stayed in this beautiful home. We fully intend to book this home for future trips!
This is a great house for a large party. The bedrooms and baths are spacious and the beds are good. The fireplace is wonderful and draws well. We will be coming back again next year.
We stayed in this home for a week with another family, so 9 people (4 adults/5 kids) total. The location was great, the view was nice. There was plenty of space for the adults to hang out on the main floor and the kids on the lower level. Nice to have bathrooms with each bedroom. The kitchen, dining and living room space were great. The furniture was all very comfortable. Being close to several of the hiking trails was very convenient. There were a few things to do on the mountain, but if you get cabin fever, you are close (45mins) to Charlottesville and can easily take a day trip to the downtown shopping mall, which is fun. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the home too.
There were a few negatives, which didn't take away from our vacation, but I felt they should be mentioned. The stove & oven were older, so it took a while longer to cook and the water pressure in the home wasn't adequate for 5 bathrooms. The home was also showing some wear and tear. There were a few things that were broken in the home-closet doors, pantry doors and the main floor shower stall was off the track. It was also great to be able to bring our dog with us on vacation!
Our family gathered for a reunion at this wonderful home. we loved the location, the area, and the home itself. Plenty of space to be together with bedrooms off by themselves. Great deck and view. Everyone agreed, we would like to go back again. Thank you for sharing such a great house.
Our multi-family group really enjoyed our stay in this house. It is roomy with comfortable seating areas for all. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked. I'm sure we would have enjoyed the outdoor spaces as well in another season. Watching the sunrise over the mountains in the morning was great. Only negative was very low water pressure in all bathrooms - maybe due to several things and not a major problem - just would have enjoyed a high pressure shower after skiing.
The Wintergreen Nature Foundation regularly offers special nature and educational programs for resort guests and members. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail and a trail to a beautiful waterfall are within walking distance of the home. There are many wineries open for wine tours, there are multiple microbreweries, and there are numerous orchards that sponsor Fall festivities all within 20 to 30 minutes of our home. Lake Sherando a state recreational area is close by and Crabtree Falls is nearby also. Enjoy cultural or sporting events or student activities such as freshman move in or senior graduations at The University of Virginia, just 40 minutes away.
