Quiet and secluded

Pros: This place is about 18 miles outside of Pagosa Springs on a winding, dirt road. It is nestled in the mountains and the sounds of the river are relaxing. The stars at night look like someone threw glitter in the sky. Craig was an attentive host and answered all our questions. If you are looking for seclusion, this is the place for you.
Cons: A very serious problem--all the smoke detectors have been removed. As a retired fire chief, this was very unnerving and I hope the owner fixes the problem soon. Also, no dishwasher even though it was listed as having a dishwasher. With 6 of us, washing dishes was a problem. If you are not a dog lover, don't go here. Winston was a very friendly dog and all of his buddies roam the property. The neighbor kids visited often which invaded our privacy. The air conditioning is really a swamp cooler. It cooled off the major room enough; however it wasn't needed very often. Several junk cars and high weeds which distracted from the beauty of the area. The river was very low so the fishing wasn't great and no tubing.
Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the feedback on the fire alarms, that has been fixed, immediately! We are also replacing the dishwasher...I agree, no one wants to do dishes on their vacation. We're also working to address the issues with the neighbor's yard, and if dogs are visiting, please let us know. The children visiting the neighbors are no longer there. I'm sorry I can't help with the fishing, it's usually much better!
