What a great place.

Bev Rick Fort Worth, TX
Review Submitted: November 1, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We stayed at this property for a week. All I can say is, “WOW” what a great property. This picture does not do it justice. It is set in a very tranquil location with the Kentucky River in your backyard. You can walk from the house to the river. In the morning, you can see the fog over the river from the wrap-around porch, as you are sipping coffee from the various seating options enjoying the view, peace and quiet. If you are lucky, you will hear the rooster in the background, with a muted cock-a doddle-do. Re-entering the house, a warm fireplace awaits you with a very quick warm-up. MMMMM, how comforting.
The interior is very well stocked with high-end products such as, Emerill cookware, Dyson vacuums, etc. And completely stocked with all of the cleaning, laundry and pantry products you can imagine. Trust me, very well stocked.
If you are bringing a dog, the neighborhood is very pet-friendly. Oh, by the way, the cupboards were stuffed with doggie treats as well. What a nice touch.
The owners were extremely attentive by calling making sure the accommodations were up to expectations. Of course, our reply was, “Yes”.
If you are looking to attend Keeneland, this property is about 10-15 minutes away. Driving pass the horse, cow farms was breathtaking. If you are seeking the distills you have many options to choose from within a short distance. If you are seeking the caves, it’s approx, 1 ½ hour scenic drive. So time passes very quickly.
I can write a book on our stay and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property to all.
EXTREMELY NICE, WONDERFUL, TRANQUIL, PET-FRIENDLY, WELL APPOINTED, home.
We plan to re-visit. ?

Owner's Response: I am very pleased to know that our guests are enjoying the home.
Our concerns are to make our home as comfortable as possible for our guests at a very affordable price. We welcome families as well as pets all year. We want all our vacationers to come back and we will offer 10% off for second time guests .
Thank you to all our past guests and hope all future guests will come and enjoy the Kentucky River home.

Bourbon Trail

Cindin Swansea, Ma
Review Submitted: October 17, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
What a wonderful place! We were here with another couple and my son to do the bourbon trail and what a GREAT location to do it from! Clara was great she told us we would be in a good location and she was not kidding.....we ended up doing 5 out of 8 distilleries. The house had everything we needed it was clean and well stocked! It was really nice to come home at the end of the day to sit on the deck and relax while cooking great dinners on the grill! Soooo much better than staying in a hotel! What else can I say I would recommend this place to everyone......just so you know our friends had never rented a home and to say they were a little nervous is an understatement! Well I do believe we have converted them and I can not thank Clara enough for providing exactally what she advertised. Also she let us check in early, the drive from MA was long and we arrived earlier than we thought it was great to go home instead of a hotel. If we ever go back we will be staying here hands down! Thanks for everything Clara!

Kentucky Riverfront Treasure

KimandPat Portland, OR
Review Submitted: July 31, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
What can I say? We just returned last night from a family reunion in Lexington, and the place we rented on the Kentucky River turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip! The photos really don't do it justice. The first day, my dad and my son went down to the river and caught a fish! The second day, we had everyone over for a good old fashioned barbeque out on the lawn. There were lots of toys in the closet and the kids all played tag and ball and badminton. We grownups sat around the picnic table and remininsced on old times. Comfort was the feeling.

The owner was a gem, friendly and professional to deal with. The property is clean and well maintained. I'd definately recommend this place anytime.

Iowa family for a weekend stay

Wayne & Charlene Waukee, IA
Review Submitted: April 28, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We rented this house the last weekend in April. The weather was beautiful and so was the view from the large deck. The yard is nice and big. Plenty of room to play yard games. The house was very homey. Everything that we needed was provided. All we had to bring was our food and clothing. A very quite & safe neighborhood. Plenty of parking. The house is conveniently located to town where there is a grocery store, restaurants, and shopping. It is easy access from Frankfort and Lexington. The owners are very friendly and caring people. Their customer service was excellent! We will be back to rent this house and will recommend it to other people.

River House - Versailles Kentucky

Review Submitted: April 7, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We had a great time at the river house, we have never stayed in a house that was so well kitted out- everything you would need- including internet access. Very clean, very comfortable, and a lovely setting, it was lovely to sit out on the decking, watching the river run by and also lovely to sit in front of the fire when the evening got a bit chilly. The hosts were very welcoming and readily answered our queires. The Versailles-Lexington area is a real treat to visit. We are very interested in birds and spotted many from the deck, but also near by is the Buckley Reserve- spotted 21 species in 40 minutes from the blind - We would also recommend Melissas Cafe and Ricardos(old station ) restaraunts in Versailles and breakfast with the jockeys at the racecourse. It was a little too early in year for us to fully use the river - but there was ample parking space for trialers/boats and the boat ramp was only a mile away. We hope to come back agian and have already recommended it to friends -
