We came to Sea Ranch every year for family vacations in rental homes and built our first home ('Casa Pacis'' -- see separate VRBO listing) at near-by 'Walk-on Beach' in 1984. In 1993 we found the home which became 'Bella Vista' for sale, on a knoll in a superb view location that we had admired for years on our walks on Sea Ranch trails. We remodeled it, adding a third bath and a piano mezzanine off the great room.
The property is located on one of Sea Ranch's most desirable view lots. It combines architecturally pleasing features, such as use of 45-degree angles, open ceilings, cedar T&G interior siding, terra cotta tiles, and many other unique attributes, with maximized ocean and coastal meadow views from all rooms.
The map shows Bella Vista closer to Highway 1 than it actually is. The home is located about 500 feet west of Coastal Highway 1, close to the Sea Ranch internal Leeward Road, and well sheltered from highway noise due to topography and vegetation. Bella Vista is located on a knoll and looks over the meadow and houses in front, with superb views up and down the coast.
