I just returned from a five-night stay in the Painted Cabin and it was amazing. Inside are two spacious bedrooms with two of the most comfortable beds on the planet - everything is wonderfully clean and perfectly suited for the location. The bathrooms are modern and the shower way better than mine at home! From the front porch you can look out on the Tetons - but first you get to gaze at horses, flowers, beautiful fields, and for us, endless blue skies (the weather was perfect!). Having rented many homes over the past ten years, the Painted Cabin is right at the top of my list. The photos and description are accurate, but they can't possibly tell the whole story. I usually like to rent different homes if I return to the same place, but when I come back to Jackson I won't even look elsewhere. The little town of Wilson is a great place to stay - equidistant between Teton Village (fun to visit but not a place I would want to stay unless I were skiing) and Jackson (neat town, but too touristy for my taste). Wilson has a great general store with so much character - Norah's Fish Creek Inn serves a great breakfast (never had dinner there because sitting on the front porch of the cabin was preferable to eating out). If you go visit Jenny Lake and take the walk up to Hidden Falls. And the float trip with Barker-Ewing was peaceful and scenic. The Grand Teton Music Festival is wonderful in the summer (beautiful concert hall and fine musicians). The entire Jackson Hole area is a treat - staying in the Painted Cabin made the visit even more memorable.
