Our vintage log home, which has been thoughtfully restored, gives visitors a 'Grand' welcome to Jackson Hole with awesome Teton views.
From the white pine floors, faux painted walls, original artwork, chandeliers, mix of antique and modern furnishings, pillow menu, granite and marble countertops, river rock fireplace, to the front porch which runs the width of the cabin, guests are treated to all of the amenities. With the cozy great room, two bedrooms (each with queen bed), 1.5 bathrooms, full kitchen with dining area and laundry room, this is a mini home away from home.
Located ten minutes from Teton Village; 15 minutes from the town of Jackson; 15 minutes from Grand Teton National Park and a short walk along the bike path to the charming town of Wilson, our location and views are unsurpassed.
This is truly a five star cabin in a five star location, We invite you to enjoy the Tetons with our Painted Cabin as your base.
We could only get into the Painted Cabin for three nights, and after our visit, we wished we were able to stay for a month or more. The cabin is in a great location outside the small community of Wilson, near the main roads that lead into Teton Village and Moose (a place, not the critter) and then another road about 10 minutes from Jackson (although 25 minutes in traffic).
The photos of the interior and exterior are exactly what you will get, only they don't show how relaxed your will feel once you arrive. We sat on the porch drinking a glass of wine and were greeted by Roxie, the owners' small Border Terrier, and the neighbors' dog, Onyx, who looks like a big black wolf but is as gentle as they come. The loaner dogs helped us to miss our own pets less. We met the owner the first afternoon, but didn't feel as if we were intruding, even though their house was just yards away, hidden by trees. There is parking right next to the cabin.
The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed--plenty of pots and pans, utensils, gadgets, blender, toaster, Americana mugs--even the first day's worth of coffee and various teas. There was a linen closet with extra blankets, towels, and even beach towels. The living room had tons of reading materials about local attractions, including magazines, guide books, and coffee table books about the area. No need to bring a book or magazine of your own. There are also brochures for raft trips, horseback riding, and other activities that are up-to-date.
The two bedrooms are spacious, and the master bath is big enough for two people to be in it at once, including a huge shower. There's a hairdryer in the vanity (one less thing to bring!) and sample-size bath products. The half bath is just off the hallway, and would not be suitable if there were a second couple sharing the cabin, or for kids. Think of it as a powder room.
On the front porch, there's a BBQ, a small table that can be easily moved for having breakfast or happy hour, and four vintage metal chairs. We moved the chairs out to the nice-sized lawn when it was cool in the early morning, enjoying the view. The location is near the small community of Wilson, and several restaurants are nearby (not walking distance but a short drive).
Book early if you want to rent this cabin--it will become more popular in the summer as the rates for accommodations in Jackson and Teton Village go up. You couldn't ask for a better place to unwind, relax, and fall back in love.
This cabin is 5 star. We loved it! Matt and Martha have put a lot of love into this cabin and it shows. It is very cozy and welcoming. We hated to leave after 5 days. Roxie the dog was very friendly and helped us miss our dogs back home less. You will absolutely love this cabin.
A most delightful place to stay!! The cabin is exactly as described. Very conveniently located to all local attractions and restaurants. Picturesque views of the Grand Teton Mtns. and hot air balloons soaring above right outside the windows! The owners, Matt and Martha, are great hosts and greeted us warmly. The cabin is perfect for a honeymooning couple or two couples enjoying a vacation together, as was our case. The cabin is exactly as depicted, beautiful and relaxing. We look forward to another trip to the Jackson area and would not consider staying anywhere else!!!
The cabin is quaint, charming and beautifully decorated. It was exactly what we were looking for and even better than the pictures. The location is perfect if you want to be close enough to enjoy great restaurants, but want the quiet and peaceful experience of being close to nature. Close to the south entrance of the park about 15 minutes. The cabin is close to Jackson and a couple of good restaurants in Wilson. It is a perfect size for 2 couples, 1 small family or just one couple (like us). As we vacationed in early September, we did lots of hiking and sightseeing. The weather was amazing. The owners are very friendly and available if we needed them, but gave us all the privacy we wanted. The cabin is situated so that you can barely see the main house or even neighbors. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely recommend staying there.
I just returned from a five-night stay in the Painted Cabin and it was amazing. Inside are two spacious bedrooms with two of the most comfortable beds on the planet - everything is wonderfully clean and perfectly suited for the location. The bathrooms are modern and the shower way better than mine at home! From the front porch you can look out on the Tetons - but first you get to gaze at horses, flowers, beautiful fields, and for us, endless blue skies (the weather was perfect!). Having rented many homes over the past ten years, the Painted Cabin is right at the top of my list. The photos and description are accurate, but they can't possibly tell the whole story. I usually like to rent different homes if I return to the same place, but when I come back to Jackson I won't even look elsewhere. The little town of Wilson is a great place to stay - equidistant between Teton Village (fun to visit but not a place I would want to stay unless I were skiing) and Jackson (neat town, but too touristy for my taste). Wilson has a great general store with so much character - Norah's Fish Creek Inn serves a great breakfast (never had dinner there because sitting on the front porch of the cabin was preferable to eating out). If you go visit Jenny Lake and take the walk up to Hidden Falls. And the float trip with Barker-Ewing was peaceful and scenic. The Grand Teton Music Festival is wonderful in the summer (beautiful concert hall and fine musicians). The entire Jackson Hole area is a treat - staying in the Painted Cabin made the visit even more memorable.
My husband and I stayed at The Painted Cabin Sept. 9th-16th. If you care about detail and lovely finishings and furnishings, this is the place for you. Many extra touches. Pictures are more than accurate and the setting is quiet and private. I would definitely recommend a stay here while seeing the area sights. Try the trout dinner at Nora's Fish Creek Inn, ride the Jackson Hole tram, take the 2 hr. trail ride at Mill Iron Ranch and the float trip with Barker-Ewing. Your hosts, Martha and Matt, have done a great job with this cabin! Be sure to pet Roxie the dog!
