The unit was not exactly as described - it was BETTER!!! Wayne is too modest. I don't think the photos of the unit do the place justice. The view of the turquoise waters was great! Located on the first floor, with a large screened in patio, this made it super easy to go in & out to the beach front. There is also a dining table out in the patio - perfect for eating w/views or drying your beach gear.
The condo was spotlessly clean and there was a fresh vase of flowers right on the table. The amenities in the unit met all of my needs - lots of fresh linens & towels, all kitchen appliances & gadgets (blender, coffee maker, etc.) lots of cleaning supplies, and there was even a first aid kit and candles. Also, the wireless internet worked perfectly. TV, DVD player, books, extra beach toys, and the list goes on and on. He has thought of everything. Large shower in the bathroom and good size vanity area. Bathroom was spotlessly clean. My husband and I were very comfortable in the unit.
Location, location, location. We drove all over the island, and I'd have to say this condo has the best location right at Rum Point - stay here if you are looking for an amazing beach to relax at or if you are an active water lover, you'll love the clear turquoise water full of aquatic life.
The complex has good common areas - beach front of course, pool, lounge chairs, ample parking, BBQ grills, etc. There is onsite management so if you need something you can go to the front office. Another big plus is that it's also located near an outfitter called Red Sail Sports, a restaurant, along with hammocks, lounge chairs, etc. Area is popular, but don't worry..there is a clear physical distinction between The Retreat condo area and the public places. So, you have your serenity if you need it or if you want more action, it's just next door.
Booking with Wayne was a breeze. He was readily available to answer any questions via phone or email. And although I didn't need to change my dates or anything, I had a good hunch that if I needed to, he would be flexible. Stop looking any further. Book this unit now!
